When I try to start my smoker it continuously beeps and says ERR. What can I do to fix it?

Remove the metal plate cover at the back and check that the wires to the element are well connected and that the element are in good condition, if they are corroded you may need to replace them.https://www.yaoawe.com/collections/masterbuilt-heating-element

Digital readout says eaaf

The unit will not turn on if the internal temp sensor is below 40 degrees. Warm it with a hot rag or hair dryer, or bring the unit inside to warm up and it will turn on. Once the unit turns on for a minute or so, it will work fine outside.

This isn't the ideal solution, but it will work. I don't know why they don't want the smoker to turn on when it is cold out (unless they are worried that the quick change in temp will damage the heating coil).

The Masterbilt 20070106 which we

You are not the first Masterbuilt Electric Smoker owner to have this problem. The Model 20070106 has been plagued with electrical problems from day one. Maybe, that's why it only has a 90 day warranty?

As far as parts are concerned, you can call Masterbuilt (800-489-1581), first to see if they can help you. More than likely, you will need to replace the electronic control panel on the top of the smoker and maybe the electric element, too.

Another place to try is www.factoryapplianceparts.com.

EAAF Error Code

I went to start my smoker Thanksgiving morning in Denver and I got the EAAF error. I checked all electrical connections and they appeared fine; I next removed the digital control box and stuck it inside my jacket to warm it up (was 15 deg outside) and lit a candle inside the smoker. After 20 min I put everything back together and it worked. Just remember to remove the candle inside the smoker. I plan to call Mastercraft on Monday to see if they can tell me what EAAF means.

My heating element is not working. How can I get a replacement.

I experienced the same problem. My heating element was not working. After a Continuity Test, the Heating Coil was dead and needs replacement. I asked Masterbuilt if any heating coil replacement parts were available. They said "no", but they could offer a discounted sale on a new Smoker for about $175.00. I am still looking. A local appliance dealer said the internet was the most likely place to find one. After looking on the internet, I can't seem to find one yet. If you know of any, please let me know. Call (616) 772-1332 and ask for Bob. Thanks

Model 20070410 masterbuilt smoker has the chip tray touching the element. will this burn out the element

Have the same "smokehouse" and faced the same issue today. First, ensure the Wood Chip Grate is rotated so the highest part of the Grate is to the left. Next , place the Water Bowl on the left (that highest part) and the Wood Chip Bowl w/ Lid to the right (balanced on the Grate so it doesn't fall through the supports.

Door seal loose

You can use wood stove gasket adhesive to reattach it. Or better yet, replace the whole thing, with wood stove rope gasket material. If you opt to do the latter, take a small 6" piece with you, when you go shopping for the rope gasket, as it's not one size fits all. Most hardware stores like Ace & true Value stock the wood stove rope gaskets. You will need to know the overall length that you need.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

PRE-SEASON SMOKER PRIOR TO FIRST USE.

Some smoke may appear during this time, this is normal.

2. Set temperature to 275°F (135°C) and run unit for 3 hours.

3. During last 45 minutes, add ½ cup of wood chips in chip loader to complete pre-seasoning. This

amount is equal to the contents of a filled chip loader.

NOTE: Never add more than ½ cup (1 fi lled chip loader) at a time. Additional chips should not be

added until any previously added chips have ceased generating smoke.

Are you supposed to put water in the water bowl

Not necessarily. It depends on what you're smoking. Some meats require moisture or they will dry out. Pork is one that quickly comes to mind, as does white meat fish. However, something like beef jerky, no you do not need water. And then, there are times you can add flavor to meat by using a dark beer instead of water Really good for smoking Baby Back Ribs.. The beer should be at room temperature before using.

There are some great websites that great smoking recipes. Just do a Google search for smoking meat, pork fish, etc. Or search for "How to use a smoker."

Hope this helps you come up with some great smoke food.

Electric smoker is now tripping GFCI breaker

Hi,
GFCI breaker tend to wearout and become more sensitive after time and use. Motor loads are especially hard on them. Also resistance loads such as heating elements. Your smoker may be pulling a bit more electric than it used too.
Check the power draw of the smoker when operating, if it is high then fuigure out why. It it is normal then replace the braker. Use a regular breaker if the GFCI is not required, or run a cord from an outlet that is not on a GFCI breaker.
