2009 chevyaveo stalls when startingup after fueling up

The evos sytem on chevys is the problem,,,evap operating system,,,evos,,, the vent valve soliniod, or vent valve purge,,on the intake of the engine is sticking in the open position,, i cant remember which its called but its the one on the intake,,, what happens is it sticks open position and when you fill your car with gas it pushes all the gas fumes into the intake,,, causeing a flooding ,no start , or hard start situation,,,if you cant or dont want to fix,it, you can leave your car running when getting gas it will be fine ,,which is the cheap fix,,,, the evos system has 4 componets,,, vent valve solinoid, vent valve purge, charcole canister, fuel presure sensor(top of fuel tank) all can be replaced for around 125 bucks if you do some seaching around and doing the labor yourself,,check out you tube,,,

Spitting, sputering, backfire, loss of power 1985 FXRS EVO

It sounds like you've got either a fuel problem or an ignition problem. The fuel problem is probably the easiest to troubleshoot. Disconnect your fuel line and the carb and put it into a empty gas can. Turn on the petcock and observe the fuel running into the can. Watch it long enough for at least a quart of fuel to run into the can. If, after a short while, the fuel flow slows or stops, loosen your fuel cap. If the flow picks back up, replace the fuel cap. If not, drain the tank and pull the petcock and find out what the problem with that is.

If the fuel is alright, the ignition may be the problem. Has the engine recently started to make a strange whining noise that sounds like an alternator on a car whining? If so, you may have lost an inner camshaft bearing. About the only thing you can check with a meter on your ignition system is the coil. Disconnect the small wires from the coil and use an ohm meter to check the resistance of the primary side of the coil. It should be between 2 and 3 Ohms.

Good Luck
