SOURCE: Replacing Blower Motor Resistor

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Open the glove box.
  3. Flex both sides of the glove box bin inward near the top far enough for the rubber glove box stop bumpers to clear the sides of the glove box opening, then roll the glove box downward.
  4. Reach through the glove box opening to access and disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector for the blower motor resistor from the resistor connector receptacle (Blower Motor Resistor).
  5. Reach through the glove box opening to access and disconnect the blower motor pigtail wire connector from the resistor connector receptacle.
  6. Remove the two screws that secure the blower motor resistor to the evaporator housing.
  7. Remove the blower motor resistor from the evaporator housing.80ac4e54.gif

SOURCE: Where is the blower motor resistor on a 2003 Chevy Malibu

Remove the shroud below glove box, 2 screws and a snap-pop fitting. Be careful of the courtesy light. Remove the blower moter and disconnect the purple/black power connector to it - - you'll need this extra room to work with. 2 more screws, same size, 6.5mm on mine, 7or 8mm on some others, that holds the blower motor resistor in place. This replacement part is less than 40 bones at most parts store. Unplug, replace, re-install, test and you're on your way with about 2 hours of slow paced effort in your own driveway. Typical cost at a garage - up to $400, what a sham.

2003 Chevy Tahoe. I GET NO POWER TO CONTROLLER WIRE AND NO POWER TO REAR BLOWER MOTOR. 2003 TAHOE. THE COOL AND HEAT DOORS WORK.

Question edited into basic written English.
Question moved to the correct make model category.
Duplicate post deleted and amalgamated into this question.

Please don't type in all CAPS, it is considered SHOUTING and is hard to read.

Your heating is run from the Body Control Module. You have a very complex vehicle, and you can't fix this yourself, you need an auto electrician with a pro grade, bi-directional scan tool to diagnose where the breakdown in communication is.

NO POWER TO REAR BLOWER AND NO POWER TO REAR CONTROLER 2003 TAHOE

I will post and not cover Rear AUX heater box. ok, and is and option

what part of this car has blower
is this HVAC blower failing on HIGH
is this manual version or climate control option.
fuse are blown in cab or in bay (engine)
fuses are first of high speed blower mode fails dead.
what IS A CKED ????? is see no hits in my ASE books on that part or device name in a car or a truck
2003 chevy tahoe , no engine /trans told. (this dictates fuse boxes)
my guess HVAC topic but no sure, what fan/blower or turbo this is.
climate control model has left and right controls and all differenet wiring max. differ.
fuse Hvac1, hvac-ECas, and fuse BOWER< yes 3 fuse must not be blown and the BCM is the brain here.
not scanning the PCM to see BCM errors is a huge error in testing
manual controls the resistor block uses a relay to send 12dc to he blower set to HIGH. all resistors bad ,high still works.

here are the 4 things to fail;
4 is good so 3 things, 2 fuses,
#3 is relay. to fail. a volt meter finds this easy for sure reading this page in the SM.below 3 pins on relay are at 12v.
so are pin F and G 12vdc if not input to them is bad.
not counting bad wires.,

The heat in my 2003 chevy tahoe doesnt work. The motor wont spin. I've checkd fuses & the wire from the resistor to the blower motor. All have power. Ive hook a neg/pos charge to the motor & it spins.

It has an internal card fuse which sits in the bottom of the blower unit.these get condensation and rust so the contact strips corrode over time.you remove by unscrewing one Philips screw and pull the fuse card out...inspect.i fixed mine by solder wire bridge across the breaks but if you can source from breakers or eBay all well and good.

I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe . The heater and a/c fan only works on the highest speed #5. How do you repair this problem?

Check the blower motor resistor. It is on the passengers side by the blower motor under the dash. The resistor is connected to the blower motor and controls the blower speeds. They are known for going bad. Also check the connectors because they get hot and will melt.If they are melted then you will have to replace the connectors. You can get these from the dealership.Replace the blower motor resistor too.Hope this helps.Good luck.

2003 Chevy Tahoe, blower keeps running after shut off draining my battery

well it sounds to me as if you have a bad blower resistor allowing the continuous flow to the motor. or else you have a faulty relay there and its staying applied not releasing..or else you have a bad blower motor

2005 tahoe no air blowing

as long as all the fuses are good.. its probably the blower resistor/module... located next to the blower motor under the pass. side of the dash..

Blower motor on my 2003 Tahoe only works in position 3 and 4

CHECK THE CONNECTOR TO THE BLOWER RESISTOR. IT USUALLY BURNS TO THE RESISTOR. YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE RESISTOR AND THE CONNECTOR.

03 chevy tahoe

There are seperate blowers for the front and rear air. It is most likely either your blower motor or the resistor, both located under the passenger side dash. I got a blower from a salvage yard for $25, But ended up having to get the resister from the dealership for about $130. Hope this helps.
