I pulled the starter again and checked the flywheel and the teeth are fine. It sounds like it's not engaging at all when you try to start it. For the life of me I can't figure it out. It just sounds like its spinning

SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Trailblazer Engine Codes

This is actually an easy swap out. Remove the electrical connection, remove the retaining bolt and pull out old one. I believe the sensor is located in the front passenger side of the engine on this particular model.

SOURCE: license plate light replacement

The license plate lights are in the ledge above the license plate. 2 screws keep the lens cover in place. Remove the screws, and the cover comes off. Just pull the lamp out (wedge base) and replace.

SOURCE: where is starter located on

it is on the passenger side
un hook the battery
jack the truck and block it
climb under the truck and you will see it sticking in the trany from the motor
remove the two 5/8 bolts and the starter its round don't loose the shims you
will need them when installing the new one
once the starter is hanging you need to remove the battery wire and depending
on the starter some have 2 little wires others have 1 once all the wires are
disconnected you can now match your old one with the new one.
put back in reverse the steps reinstalling the new one

hope this helps you

My XL7 won't start.

It is possible for the starter to turn but not engage the flex plate. When this happens it sounds different and and will turn faster as it not turning then fine therefore reducing the load on the starter. If this is your case replace the starter.

My 2002 Chevy Trailblazer wont start when i turn my key it makes a weird loud noise not a clicking noise ....battery are new internal display comes on can you help me?

sounds like the starter motor has failed ,its spinning but not throwing out the bendix this is a fault with the operating fork that pulls the bendix out and its possible its broke in the middle where it pivots ,ask a local mechanic to have a look for you who been recomended by a friend but i think you will need a re-con starter unless the mechanic is a proper mechanic who can repair it

Define - It attempts to turn over but won't catch and run ???? When you turn the key to start does the starter engage an spin the engine ? This would be a crank no start condition . If the starter doesn't engage an spin the engine this would be a no crank no start condition . Sorry to ask but i have only been an auto tech for thirty years an have heard a lot of different discriptions for these simple actions . crank no start or no crank no start . Very different diagnostic procedures . So when you turn the key to start , does the starter engage an spin the engine ,but won't start an run ?

Do you have the correct starter and is it grinding, this sounds like a bad flywheel or wrong starter or even a bad one. look at teeth of flywheel and see if they are damaged. good day

2000 chevy impala, starter spins but does not engage

if the starter spins but does not engage flywheel. then its the starter solinoid thats bad. its on top of starter, when key is turned to start, the solinoid is activated, and it pushes the gears out to make contact with flywheel to start vehicle. so the solinoid just spins with out kicking out to flywheel. change solinoid or get another starter. have a good day !

2 possible things, 1. the contacts in the solinoid on the starter are bad, it would still test good but wouldnt have enouph power to engage the flywheel, replace starter, or 2. bad flywheel, teeth on flywheel are worn or broken, both require removal of starter, remove starter first inspect flywheel for damage, if none replace starter.
