1 red light indicates that there is general hardware related problem with the console, 2 red lights indicate the overheating of the console, 3 red lights indicate the red ring of death and 4 red lights indicate that you need to tighten your AV console wire.

Hi this sounds like what happened to mine and also started with Halo 3 now it happens with all my games. Eventually you will get a red light flashing its the E74 error and will have to be sent to microsoft. The E74 error is a problem with either the AV port the Graphics chip or the AV cable itself

You have the lights of death, but dont fear...just get in contact with xbox they will supposedly replace it for free, because its a defect...

The problem is that you have created 2 different accounts, you have to use the account you used to complete the game to join xbox live to maintain the achievements - you can't send game data to another account. Play the original account (the one you completed the game with) and use it with Live. If you haven't discovered this yet or the other account expired get more Xbox Live and go from there.

im having same problem and my brothers xbox 360 too. we think its because the laser is way to low

Recording Halo 3 game play may seem difficult but is easier than it seems.

1. Firstly buy a video capture card, such as the Dazzle, The Easy Cap, or the Pinnacle.
2. Go to your local Radio Shack or electronics store and buy an RCA adapter, RCA cable, and a Scart adapter

If you both have Xbox 360s and want to play together, just buy an Xbox Live subscription and play via the Internet. Otherwise, it is impossible to play with him via Skype because your controller would not have an adequate range to connect to his console.

My only guess would be that you disconnected the cable to the sensor while cleaning your Xbox. Have you checked all the connections before reassembling it? Check out the video I linked, maybe it'll help you!

My Sons Xbox had sound but a blank screen. at first i thought it was the video leads.. Borrowed a set from his friend but still the same.. blank screen but sound. I thought about the towel trick but was wary.. so instead i went to a comp repair shop. He suggested the towel trick... he said it may or not work. So being out of warranty with nothing to lose , i gave it a go.
Remove your hard drive and video leads leave just the power lead attached. Wrap your xbox in three towels and switch it on for about 20mins (which i did). Switch it off (it may already have switched itself off ! leave it to cool for about 15 mins and then plug everything back in . I was amazed to find my sons xbox up and running agian. Hope it works for you !! It did for me and i still can't belive it!

his I have seen before and it tells me the machines is displaying the signs of lead free solder failure (85%sure). you could strip the machine down and replacing the x-clamps at the same time do the heat-gun fix if you don't have access to an IR oven.
To me it will just get worse and will definitely need the x-clamps replacing AND the solder re-seating.

if you want to attempt this yourself i have some free guides available and is relatively easy to do, you would need a few tools including heatgun. We use something called an ir oven which re-heats the solder and in turn re-seats it but the heatgun can be just as good sometimes.

If you don't want open the box then the towel trick is the only option. (not recommended)

Recommended fix: get youself a xbox repair kit and replaced the xclamps. You can get them at GamesRepair.com

My personal favorite method: Get yourself a heatgun. You can fine them at most hardware store for like $25-30. Open the case, take out the heatsink on the GPU. Set your heatgun at 300-400 degree and blow at the GUP for like 90seconds at circular motion and two inches above the the GUP. Let it cool down and apply new thermal compound. Put the heatsink back and everything else. Test your console before putting the case back on.

If you're using the AA battery pack, try this.

Use a small screwdriver or other such tool to pry up the metal spring on the back of the battery pack as seen here:


This will give you access to the two small metal prongs underneath. Pry these up as well, as far as you can (see below).


Finally, push the metal spring back down just enough so that a little bump of it appears above the battery pack, like so.


Now power it up and test it out!

im sorry to tell you this but you cannot retrieve deleted content on your hard drive unless you saved it on a memory card or another hard drive if you did put the memory card in slot a and transfer it on your hard drive or if you saved it on another hard drive replace your current hard drive with the one with saved data on it.

Replace the DVD drive assembly. It is a standard PC type very cheap device.

Contrary to popular belief, there are drivers in XP for the FFP. If you configure everything properly and make sure the gameport on the soundcard is woking with updateds drivers, you should be OK. I also have the original manual to scan and send out if anybody needs it. The best option is to buy an old box, throw a 20 Gb HDD into it and load Windows 98. Easy!

2 red lights is overheating, try giving it a dust out and if this does not work you will need to stop the heat build up inside.

To do this you can send it in or use a good Xbox 360 Repair guide to fix it.
