1994 dodge spirit. Shifted cable
The shift cable on a 1994 Dodge Spirit connects the gear shift lever to the transmission, allowing the driver to shift gears. If the cable is damaged or worn out, it may need to be replaced. Here are the general steps to change the shift cable on a 1994 Dodge Spirit:
- Park the car on a level surface and set the parking brake.
- Locate the shift cable where it connects to the transmission. It will be on the driver's side of the vehicle, near the front of the transmission.
- Use a pair of pliers to remove the cable retaining clip or nut that secures the cable to the transmission.
- Trace the cable up to the gear shift lever inside the vehicle.
- Remove any trim pieces or panels that are blocking access to the cable connection at the gear shift lever.
- Use a pair of pliers to remove the cable retaining clip or nut that secures the cable to the gear shift lever.
- Remove the old shift cable from the vehicle.
- Install the new shift cable by first attaching it to the gear shift lever and then connecting it to the transmission.
- Secure the cable to the gear shift lever and transmission using the retaining clip or nut that you removed earlier.
- Test the new shift cable by shifting through all of the gears to ensure that it is functioning properly.
- Replace any trim pieces or panels that you removed earlier.
1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Van. No injector pulse on a NOID Light until you add starting fluid. Then it fires up and injector pulse returns.
If your 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Van is not producing an injector pulse until you add starting fluid, and then it fires up and the injector pulse returns, there may be a problem with the fuel system. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the fuel pressure: A low fuel pressure can prevent the injectors from functioning properly. Use a fuel pressure gauge to check the pressure at the fuel rail, and make sure it is within the specified range for your vehicle. If the fuel pressure is low, there may be a problem with the fuel pump or fuel filter.
- Check the fuel injectors: The fuel injectors may be clogged or malfunctioning, preventing them from delivering fuel to the engine. You can try cleaning the injectors, or have them tested at a reputable repair shop to determine if they are the source of the problem.
- Check the wiring and connections: Make sure that all of the wiring and connections to the fuel injectors are secure and in good condition. Any damaged or loose wiring can prevent the injectors from functioning properly.
- Check the engine control module (ECM): The ECM is responsible for controlling the fuel injectors and other engine functions. If the ECM is faulty, it can cause problems with the fuel system. You can have the ECM tested at a reputable repair shop to determine if it is the source of the problem.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is best to have your vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic. They will be able to diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.
Serpintine belt on 2000 dodge caravan needs attaching
I take it you mean installed. The belt sequence for the pulleys should be on the cross member under the hood over the radiator or somewhere in that vicinity. Follow that pattern and you will have to put a ratchet in the front og the belt tensioner to turn it down far enough to get the belt the rest of the way on. Go to youtube and do a search on how to do it. Someone will have a video showing how to do it.
04 stratus sxt will not idle
Hi Tom.
It sounds like your IAC, ( Idle Air Control Valve), is not properly controlling the Idle speed of your engine. Try removing the IAC Valve and clean the pintle of carbon build-up. The ECM (Engine Control Module), cannot properly adjust engine Idle if the valve tip has excessive carbon build up on it. If you clean the pintle make sure the tip is less than an inch and an eighth, (1 1/8) from the shoulder to the pintle tip. This is to prevent damage when re-installing it. Retract the spring and spin the pintle inward to set the depth. If this does not work replace the Idle Air Control Valve. Hope this helps.
