See page 23 of the (UK) user's instructions, which you can download from the AEG website. The pump is accessed from the front of the machine. There's a small cover panel at the bottom right corner. Just remove the cover, and unscrew the plug carefully so that water can drain gradually into a shallow tray. TURN THE POWER OFF FIRST.

SOURCE: My AEG lavamat turbo 16810

I'm not sure if this model has an access panel with 2 screws at the bottom, but if not, An easy way to access is by tilting the washer against the wall and removing the bottom panel, Should be 4 screws. from there you can remove the hose and retrieve the debris from the pump most likely change. have a fairly good size bowl and towels close by to catch the water. make sure the washer is disconnected from it's power source. Hope this helps.

Hi, we have a AEG Lavamat 74630. It didn't empty last time we used it so we checked the drain and took out a small coin. It displayed error E10 or E20 at the time. I've tried to use it again and it is...

Easy solution, your pump filter is blocked. There is usually a tube behind a panel at the bottom of the machine, undo this and drain into a suitable container, then unscrew the drain plug and clear the blockage (usually fluff or sweetpapers!). This is probably in your handbook under emergency emptying/drain pump clearing. Beware lots of water can come out!!
tip

AEG Electrolux Lavamat 50600 is not spinning here are a few work throughs

Download manual
First off that was a link to the online user manual. If this was the first time using the machine did you follow the recommended first time use procedure by following these steps:
Before using your machine for the first time
0 Slightly pull the detergent compartment out of the control panel.
0 Pour about 1 liter of water through the detergent compartment into the washing machine.
When this has been done the ?KO lock can function correctly.
0 Run a wash cycle without laundry (COTTONS 95, with half the amount of washing powder).
This removes any residues from the drum which may have been left during manufacture.

If you have used this prior to the problem occurring try this:
The issues for not spinning are numerous as to what may cause this and it appears to be a lot but most of it is rather simple :
If there is water in the drum you need to follow the pump out procedure and remove water in the drum. Then there may be a "Bend" in the inlet hose. If there is water reaching the drum this is the possible causes and simple to check:
Water is leaking out from under the washing machine.
Fabric softener is not added, compartment for fabric softener is filled with water.
Appliance does not spin, water in the drum.
Washing has not been spun sufficiently, there is water left in the drum.
Door cannot be opened.
The rinse water is cloudy.Possible cause
The inlet hose connection is not tight.
The inlet hose has a leak.
The drain pump cover is not tight.
Washing is caught in the door.
Suction cap in the fabric softener compartment is not correctly fitted or is blocked.
RINSE HOLD selected.
SOAKING program is terminated.
There is a "Bend" in the outlet hose.
Maximum pumping height (drain height 1 m from the position of the machine) is exceeded.
Drain pump is blocked.
The water drainage system is blocked.
The door is locked due to safety reasons
Probably caused by a washing powder with a high silicate content.
Troubleshooting these are the remedies:
Tighten the inlet hose connection.
Check the inlet hose and if necessary replace it.
Tighten cover by turning clockwise.
Abort the program, remove the washing caught in the door, start a new program.
Clean the detergent compartment, fit the suction cap on firmly.
Deselect RINSE HOLD.
Pump out water and set the main wash cycle as desired.
Eliminate the Bend ( it would not allow me to use the proper word here see manual.)
Please contact AEG Service Force Centre, it has a retro- kit available for pump heights above 1 m.
I would definitely try this as it appears to the reset procedure for this machine:
Switch off the machine and pull the plug out of the socket
I would say no less than 20 minutes
but do this while waiting further:
clean the drain pump.
Clean the blockage
Carrying out an emergency emptying
1 Warning! Isolate the washing machine from the main supply before the emergency emptying!
If the washing machine no longer pumps out the water an emergency emptying must be carried out.
Warning! The water, which flows out of the emergency emptying hose can be hot.
First allow the water to cool down before emergency emptying!
0 Put down a flat container to catch the water draining out.
0 Pull down the flap in the left corner of the base strip and remove it.
0 Release the emergency emptying hose from its holder.
0 Pull the emergency emptying hose out a little.
0 Place a container underneath to catch the water.
0 Release the plug of the emergency emptying hose by turning it anti-clockwise and pull it out.
The water will drain out. Depending on the amount of water, it may be necessary to empty the container catching the water several times.
To do this, temporarily close the emergency emptying hose again with the plug. When the water has drained out completely:
0 Push and twist the plug firmly back into the emergency emptying hose.
0 Push the emergency emptying hose back in a little and let it catch onto the holder.
0 Replace the flap in the base plate and close it. When the washing machine is completely empty, the ?KO lock can no longer function correctly. Therefore before the next wash pour in approx 1 liter of water (pour it in through the washing powder compartment)
steps to Clean the drain pump
1 Warning! Switch off the washing machine and pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning the drain pump!
0 First carry out an emergency emptying (see section "Carrying out an emergency emptying").
0 Place a towel on the floor in front of the cover of the drain pump. Surplus water may flow out. 0 Unscrew the cover of the drain pump by twisting it anti-clockwise and pull it out.
0 Remove any foreign bodies which maybe in the pump housing.
0 Check whether the impeller of the pump can be turned. (It is normal forthe pump to turn in steps.) If the impeller cannot be turned at all please contact your local AEG Service Force Center.
0 Replace the cover (insert the ridges on the cover into the guiding slots)and screw on tightly in a clockwise direction.
0 Close the emergency emptying hose, push it in and twist.
0 Close the flap. I sure hope this helps a few people especially the one who I posted this for initially. GOOD Luck! If none of these suggestions work then best to call AEG for servicing, I strongly believe that the Bend in the inlet hose or the drain pump most likely the culprit and or any one of the other issues may well resolve the spin malfunction as well as possibly the main computer may have been goofed due to a slight power surge which unplugging from electric and turning off water for 30 minutes is the basic reset procedure for most electronics ( not all ;but most) while working through these steps should not hurt a thing.

My machine will not spin or go to the next cycle

Hi johnson_anit,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)

Water remains in machine. Machine stops after a minute or so and diplays F11.

F11 means Drainage fault.

Water present in appliance and is not being drained off. The display shows Drain fault F11. The buzzer is activated for 2 minutes.

Background information:
After each drain pump step, the circulation pump operates for 2 seconds and heater pressure switch B1/13 checks the water level. If it is too high (large quantity of residual water remaining in the cabinet), the drainage time is extended. If, after a further check, the water level is still too high, then the program is interrupted, the fault code is saved and the drain pump is activated. Fault code F11 is also registered if heater relay 1K1 is not activated after the fault code F51 register check; see Section 080-3.18. Drain hose kinked. Remedy: Check the drain hose for correct positioning.

Cause: Drain blocked.
Remedy:
1. Clean the on-site drain.
2. Check the sump drain.
3. Check the filters.
4. Check the heater pressure switch and replace it if necessary.

Cause: Ball in non-return valve in sump has not opened (e.g., jammed).
Remedy:
Clean the non-return valve in the sump or replace it if necessary. Cause: Foreign objects in the drain pump.

Remedy:
Clean the drain pump and its impeller.

Cause: Drain pump defective.
Remedy:
1. Check the voltage supply to the drain pump.
2. If correct voltage is present, check the drain pump motor winding.
3. Replace the drain pump, if necessary.

Cause: Foreign objects in heater pressure switch.
Remedy:
Check the heater pressure switch for blockages and correct switching point.

Cause: Heater relay defective. Heater relay (coil or contacts) becomes defective during the drainage step (after fault code F51 register check).
Remedy:
Replace the heater relay.

Hope this helps to solve it.

My Miele G2430 dishwasher stops right after draining in the first minute or so after starting, and the intake and drain light comes on. The solenoid at the end of the intake hose then clicks and the light...

Hi

Intake/Drain light flashing means an issue while draining. The dishwasher is not draining properly. Please check for air gap on the dishwasher is not clogged. It prevents dishwasher from draining properly and sometimes the drain flow is restricted due to gunk. Cleaning or bypassing the air gap will resolve the issue. If this doesn't resolve the issue then it is due to seized (or stuck) drain pump. Keep handy large bowls and towels to soak the water out. Disconnect the power to the dishwasher or turn off the breaker to the dishwasher. Tip machine on its back; remove screws that hold the bottom tray on. Remove the hoses to the main motor, remove electrical connections and switch it on. If the error still appears then turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs to cancel the error message. Switch the appliance off and then back on again. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The water remains in the drum after the cycle is completed.

Either the program controller is not outputing voltage to work the drain pump - faulty controller- or the drain pump by itself is defective.
You must open out the drain hose and make a test to confirm with an external voltage.
If blocked remove ,clean and set back

LED is flashing F3 while load is in the washing machine. It has stopped running. It is full of soapy water. ASCO W6441 Quattro 1400

Hi,

The "F3" for Asko washer`s indicates a problem occurred during pump out or specifically with the pump.

Based on your description of the unit being "full of soapy water" I suspect you have the wrong detergent or too much in the machine. These Asko ( any front load for that matter and some hi efficient top load`s recently ) must be used with lo-sudsing detergent`s only, also known as "H-E" detergent. If the manufacturer`s recommendation to use only "H-E" is not followed the unit will not function properly. ( "H-E" detergent`s do not use nearly as much "soap" as an additive in the detergent thus there should be no or very little suds present with the proper amount, always use half or a third of what is recommended on the detergent container, after all, they are in the business of selling detergent. The more you use is a benefit to them and of little to no consequences...except to you the consumer ) Some symptom`s include not allowing the pump to drain the unit properly, hence creating an error code such as "F3".

You may be able to remedy the error by way of removing the item`s of clothing, add some white vinegar ( this will help neutralize the suds ) and run the washer thru a short wash or rinse cycle. You may need to repeat this procedure to wash away excessive soap buildup in the machine.

You may also need to prewash clothing previously washed with regular detergent or in top load machines to minimize sudsing as well. This is something I suggest to all my customer`s who are new to the front load world.

If this does not remedy the problem and in fact the unit just won`t drain, check the pump for any obstructions in the filter insert/pin trap.

Here`s how to check...

**1. Turn off the power to the machine.

2. Using a flathead screwdriver
or similar item,
gently pry open the
drain pump cover if present on your model.

3. There is always a small amount of water in
the drain pump area. Before you open the drain
cover, place a shallow container, such as a pie pan,
on the floor below the drain to catch the water.

4. Pull the small black drain
hose loose from its position
on the door cover and let
the water drain into the pan.

5. Twist the pin trap cover
counterclockwise and lift it
out.

6. You can now clean out
any grit or small
objects. You should
also clean the pump
rotor at the back of the
pump housing.

7. Replace the drain cover and return the drain hose
to its position on the door.**

These are common issue`s to look for with Asko, or as I alluded to prior any front load machine. You may want to consider calling in an authorized Asko servicer if you are not completely comfortable with any of these suggestions or performing these procedures.

( I don`t know why my font changed nor how to change it back ,sorry not my computer right now it`s a netbook lol )

Hope this help`s solve your problem. If so please take a moment to rate the info I provided. If not let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you for visiting "fixya" for you Asko inquiries.

Good luck.

The drain pump of my whirlpool duet washer makes a ticking noise

Hi, Remove your strainer cover, located in the kick panel at the front, and use a mirror and flashlight to see up into the pump cavity. It sounds like there is enough debris in the strainer and pump to explain your problem. Remove any foreign material you find.
