I just purchased a piece of Samsonite luggage with a Travel Sentry lock. I was able to reset the combination but nothing on the luggage locks except the lock itself. Am I missing a part or something?

Luggage manufacturer Samsonite offers a variety of business, personal, travel products and accessories. Many Samsonite pieces such as attaches and other bags include a three-digit, built-in combination lock. When purchased, the locks are set on a factory default combination that you can change as often as you wish.

STEP 1
Turn the number dials to the previously set combination, or to "0-0-0", the factory default combination for Samsonite luggage.

STEP 2
Locate the reset button, usually placed to the side of the combination dials.

STEP 3
Press the reset button and hold it while rotating the number dials to the desired combination. Set this to a sequence easy for you to remember but hard for others to figure out.

STEP 4
Release the reset button after you set the numbers to the new combination.

STEP 5
Test the combination by turning the dials to the new code to open the lock. If the combination does not open the lock, repeat Steps 1 through 4 and test the lock again. If you still can't open the lock, contact Samsonite Customer Service at 800-765-2247.

That keyhole is so that TSA can open that lock and take it off. They only time they would do that is if your are flying on a plane and the bag is in checked luggage and it needs to be searched.

Please tell me how to reset to a new combination.

You can follow the steps below to fix your problem on how to reset your 4 dial Samsonite combination lock:

1. Set the dials to 0-0-0. Find the lever or button next to the dials.
   
2. 2If your lock has a lever, lower it and turn the dials to the desired numbers. Return the lever to its starting position.
   
3. 3For locks with a button, push the button towards the dials and turn them to the desired numbers. Release the button.
   
4. 4The lock is now set to the new combination.

On that page you can use the form to send an email regarding repairing the combination lock on your luggage.

Or, you may be able to find a business in Mumbai which sells Samsonite luggage, where you can take your bag to find out where you can have the lock repaired.

i went to change the combination on my locked Samsonite bag and when i closed it it would not open on that number.
i have tried the past number as well as the new one and it still doesn't open. thank you if you can help please it would be appriciated.
