LG viewty Touchscreen problems

Hi there hope you can help me with my prob' when you've any free time :)

My phone's screen has totally stopped working. it's not responding to anything. just a few days ago I so called "hacked" into my phone so it could have more cool themes. not sure if this messed it up?

I cant access menu or select anything now! very fustrating.

Please help! much appreciated.

    Hi this is rakesh i just few days ago purchase lg viewty ku990r but within a week, now i m facing problem with its screen its not working properly some time its screen get white....

    when i touch to select something, my phone will either not react at all or select something on a whole different area of the screen. i did the touch screen calibration and it didnt help

    My LG touchscreen sticks whenever I have a message for new e-mail and then a text comes in. It goes completely blank and I have to wait till a new e-mail comes in to be able to access anything on the phone.

    Has anyone found a solsution to the touchscreen now working other than sending off for repair... o2 have been soooo useless and I have been without a phone for 3 days!!!

    screen shows a series of lines and a crack-like mark when switched. The phone has never been dropped.

I have the same problem. But i had solved it. I use a lighter to burn on my viewty's touch screen, and it is working properly again within 30 secs. And ofcourse, do not burn the touch screen without a screen protector. Hope this solution would help.

I have the same issue! I've had my LG KU990 for a year now from today, and only yesterday it stopped working! It turns on perfectly, but when i try to touch something nothing happens, and when i take a picture i touch the top right hand corner and it simply goes off screen. So it still has the touch sensitivity in 2 places, last calls & messed up buttons. I havent got it wet. It just seems after i connected it with the cable to put my pictures onto my laptop it went completely a-wall! Help. D:

I have had the LG viewity less than 3 weeks, and it just turned itself off,the lg logo flashes on the screen and the 3 buttons down the button light up and flash, but it wont respond to anything! I even took the battery out and the screen was still flashing. Can anybody help me?

My fone has the same dam problem!!! itso so annoyin its often presses the option above wat u r tryin tp press and sometimes it stops responding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you need to calibrate your screen... go to your settings and find your touch screen settings. there should be a place to calibrate your screen from there.

How do i get icons offmy main screen on lg viewty?
If you mean the group of 9 icons grouped together on the opening screen, just "swipe" the touchscreen beneath the icon box ( in either direction) and it should change back to the normal opening screen. This is reversable if desired. Hope this helps.

You just need to buy a replace touchscreen. You can replace it. They run about 15 dollars from ebay and are pretty straight forward. Here is a link on how to replace the touchscreen on the Ku990.

Touchscreen turned itself off and keeps flashing. HELP
To fix this problem you will have to go to your local phone dealer. They would usually fix it up for free!!!

i have the same problem. i opened up my phone and saw a tiny chip thing right behind the screen fried. im thinking it happened because moisture got into the phone. moisture gets into your phone when you take a shower and leave your phone on the sink or something.

Touch sensitive screen not working
I found a solution for the LG KU990 Viewty touchscreen not responding problem. After thinking about twisting my phone, I came up with another solution which actually works every time. The touchscreen works via layers of plastic that when contact is made, a signal is triggered from the coordinates of the contact. However, when the phone has pressure, these layers of plastic stick together somehow. So, to fix it.... Get a small strip of adhesive tape that will not leave a sticky residue on your screen. Apply that tape in several spots on the surface of the screen, and lift it away from the phone with light pressure. Repeat this in several areas of the screen. That's it. You're done. Your screen should function properly. Simply recalibrate the touchscreen at this point in your settings menu. I hope it helps everyone with any type of touchscreen. I know it helped me. The touchscreen phones are totally useless using only the hard keys!

My L.G. Viewty's screen goes dead.
i had the same problem with my LG viewty. its so stupid why, you want to kick yourself.

on the perimeter of the screen, you see a tiny gap. in there are the digitizer for the screen. the screen works like a grid, one on the X axis and one on the Y axis. its not a software issue nor a screen. just a design flaw.

get a piece of copier paper. fold it nicely, and use the folded edge, run it in the perimeter of the screen and dig out all the ****, dust, dried sweat out of there. don't dig too deep or use compressed air. just dig it out with the piece of paper. you will see there is a lot of debris lodged in there. once its out, try your phone again and it will work. worked for me. i quickly bought another screen protector and now its my nice backup phone. i bought the sony ericsson X1 because i thought it was totally non usable. i guess not.
