I presume you have dual citizenship... as long as you have a legal passport i can't see that you will have any problems. you would be well advised to contact the south african embassy in the UK and obtain a visa to travel to that country. i traveled to australia a couple times and to ensure a trouble free vacation (at least with customs) i visited their embassy in my country to obtain one. they will explain any restrictions that apply to the visa.

Hi.related to citizenship. I was raised by my grandmother who is late now, a south african by birth, but i am a zimbabwean by birth. Do i qualify for citizenship. All my family side are south africans

I assume you are referring to United States citizenship. If I I'm correct in my assumption, you neglected to specifically state where are your parents or born or if they are United States citizens. If your birth parents are citizens, regardless of where you we're born you two are a citizen. If not you are not. Who raised you is of no consideration, and neither is where you were raised. You use the phrase "eligible for citizenship;," Anyone can apply for citizenship and those applications are accepted or denied on an individual basis.

We need to extend a visiting Chinese citizen South African visa that expires on 19/06/2019 for another week. Where can we apply for this extension.Thanks.Sakkie Nel

Use Google.com to search.

https://www.google.com search terms "South African visa extension"

It is probably too late, unfortunately for you, as apparently requests for extension need to be made 60 days before expiry (expiration) of the current visa.

Good day. we are leaving for Namibia on the 8th of June. My daughter's passport expires in July. We applied on the 21st of May. is there any way we can speed up the process?

https://www.google.com gives the procedure for expedited passports in South Africa, assuming that is where you live.

https://www.westerncape.gov.za/service/applying-passport

Quoting:
"Emergency Travel Certificate
This document can be issued to South African citizens who need to travel urgently and there is insufficient time to process a passport application.
To apply, you'll need to complete a DHA-73 form at Home Affairs domestic office or, if you're overseas, at a South African embassy or mission.
You must also:
  • Have proof of your identity. If you don't have an ID, here's how to apply for one.
  • Supply 2 passport photographs. Confirm with your nearest Home Affairs office if they're using the new biometric system. If so, then you don't need to bring your own photographs.
  • Have your fingerprints taken.
  • Pay the fee of R140.
It will take about one week to process the application and issue the certificate.
This certificate is valid for 9 months and can only be used for a single journey.
Please contact your Home Affairs office before visting, to confirm if they're using the new biometric application system, or if you need to bring your own photos. "

I want to apply rdp house

Hello, Lebogang -

Questions for you:
* Are you a citizen and resident of South Africa?
* Are you asking about the Reconstruction and Development Program (RDP) housing in South Africa?

If you answer "yes," to each question, Fixya.com,where you posted your question, a website intended for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS, isn't the best place to ask your question.

As a kindness, I will direct you to the information here:
https://www.groundup.org.za/article/everything-you-need-know-about-government-housing/

According to the information in that article, you need to contact the municipality where you reside. See the list of telephoner numbers for South African regional housing assistance agencies. Make a telephone call (during weekday office hours) to the agency for your region and ask your questions of a real person.

Note: I am answering from the USA.

Best wishes.

I am now 70 years of age and understand that a special discount is now available to the TV licence fee. How do I go about actioning this discount? I have a current TV licence(115674764). Thank you

Unknown where you live, but there is a web site for TV Licences in South Africa called SABC. Perhaps that is who you should contact.

FIXYA doesn't handle South African TV licenses, or South African universities or South African financial aid, or Social Services but many South Africans post questions here by accident, so that is why I can only assume you are in South Africa. Please correct me if I am wrong, thank you.

Regards.

American PS3 in South Africa

Hey thomas952,

While they may not be region-coded, PS3 consoles and games sold within the United States are going to be NSTC compliant, instead of the PAL format used in the United Kingdom and South Africa. What this means is that in order for any game to display properly (or even operate) it must be purchased from the same region of the world as the console itself - NTSC games can only be played on NTSC consoles.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
