The FE-370 will not deface your pictures by scrawling numbers across them. However, the data is stored with every picture. Depending on the program and printer, you can print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for the program.
If you print directly from the camera, refer to the instructions in the "Printing" section of the camera manual (page 38 in my copy).
Please look for clock sign on buttons to turn on-off timer function. Press clock symbol button to turn on timer function, press shutter button to start timer (10 seconds delay) to take picture.
You need to remove the back of the camera by removing the screws that goaround the perimeter. Then gently pry open the back. Then gently pry the screen edge that is closest to the out side and work around till it loosens. Then you must peel back a clamp tiny bar that holds the wire cable on to release it. reverse to install.
When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.
Be sure that you plug original Olympus USB cable directly into USB port on mother board (ussualy on the back side of PC) not on the front pannel hub and not into extention USB cable.
