Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Hours to dry. I have a GE Profile Wizard model DPSE592EA2WW electric dryer that barely gets warm and takes hours to dry a single load.

as i do not have diagram of your dryer i can only guess for you,(i am not an expert.) The element is usually in the back of the drum (at air intake). Air is blown in, heated, then goes out the opposite side where it is vented.does it heat any better at another temp setting, say MED. opposed to HIGH? This may help temporarily. Replacing element isn't hard if you are mechanically "handy", but you may first want to consider the the age of the dryer, cost of a new part, and your time. Often a used dryer is a worthwhile alternative. To replace:Remove screws to remove back panel. The heating element should look something like a flat hair dryer (basically that's what it is).If your lucky your part will come with instructions, but this would be the exception. The unit should slide or clip to plug in and out. Screws aren't usually used in this application.IF YOU HAVE A MULTITESTER, AND THE KNOW HOW, YOU CAN CHECK FOR CONTINUITY AND RESISTANCE THROUGH THE TEMP SWITCH. This will give you an idea if the element is your problem. It should be one of the two. Hope I've helped.

Beko tumble dryer - gets warm/hot but doesnt dry

Sounds like you have a restriction in your vent tube. Look behind your dryer and look for a crimp or remove hose and look for obstruction. Good luck. Rate me if I am right.

TAKES 2 TO 3 CYCLES TO DRY. gETS BARELY WARM

If your dryer is still heating, but you are experiencing longer dry times and poor drying efficiency, the following link can give you some things to check before you assume there is a malfunction with your dryer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

The number one cause of dryer heat related problems is poor exhaust ventilation. If not vented properly, a dryer will not dry efficiently, will actually take longer than required to dry, and will cause the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. The dryer will actually seem hotter than usual in many cases as the heating circuits begin to overheat. This is also the source of many fire hazards if not resolved. Read through the link provided and review some of the potential causes.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information is helpful.

NOTE: If you thoroughly check everything and still have problems let me know. The problem could be related to a thermostat failure.

The water from the door is barely coming out at a trickle, but the ice comes out fine.

your water line to the door is either partially frozen or blocked. Begin by warming it up with a blow dryer.........u might get lucky and melt the blockage. if that doesnt work get back.

Maytag dryer barely gets warm

Is your vent stopped up? Or your lint screen? Usually an element will be all out, not just a little.

I have a whirlpool dryer model #len 2000pgo and my wash doesnt get dry but dryer gets warm ...not hot like it should. what could be wrong??? its electric

Your venting plays a huge part here.Do you want to be 100% sure about the vent ,ok,for just ONE load remove the vent hose from the dryer keep atleast 3 feet clear for the air to exit dryer. Now select TIMED dry cycle for 60 minutes.Start dryer and make sure your in a heat setting (not air fluff). The normal load should dry in 60 min,If it does than you now you have a block in the venting.
