The battery won't start the generator. It has to be hand pulled to start. how do I recharge the battery?

Typically not for most small pull start engines. The block also may not have the necessary machining and tapping to mount the starter. Also it may not have a charging coil and regulator to recharge your starting battery. If you get that far.

As a guess, I would think this machine has battery powered ignition and the battery is not being recharged because the engine doesn't run. Look for such a battery and recharge it externally. That should make the spark much hotter and it shouldn't decay quickly while attempting starting. Hope this helps!
