Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 problem

I am hoping someone can help me -
I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 camera and when we turn it on the lens acts like it wants to come out but it doesn't and then we get a message on the display to "Turn the power off and on again" - every other aspect of the camera works - i can view pics from the memory card, it give the accurate date and time. but the lens won't come out so we can take more pictures.

I had the same problem with my camera a year ago I send it in to sony & they fixed it,for $20.00...

The screen is damaged, you will need to replace it or take it to a camera repair shop.

You cannot clean the inside, it it indeed has something inside. It is impossible to such a thing without complete dis-assembly of the camera.

How to take clear close up pics of jewelry

use close up mode on camera (flower mode). turn off flash and light jewelry with other light source like sun light or other photo lighting (like light box or photo lamps).

Hi

You need your lens replaced but we cannot get the P200 lens at this time. You can look online for a defective camera with a good lens and make one good camera from the two.

My sony cybershot dsc-p200 lense is stuck.

Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 worked great then the lens stuck in the open position.
Read on this site some one suggested gently manipulating the lens and tapping it then turning it on. It worked!!

Will not power off

This seems to be a common issue with this camera as several have been on ebay for sale with this exact issue.
evidently the circuit scr that controls the power off is bad and requires a complete dissembly to repair.
