I have a Kenmore refrigerator, model # 596.72913200.
The top is the refrigerator and the bottom is the freezer.
Last week the refrigerator started warming up but the freezer remained cold.
The AC Evaporator Fan Motor seemed to be running fine, so I
thought it might be the Defrost Timer. I got a new Defrost Timer and put it in.
I turned the clutch screw once and the evaporator fan came back on and the refrigerator
started to get cold, but the freezer isn't freezing anything.
I have the refrigerator temperature and the freezer temperature set to "Coldest".
What else would you suggest?
Good day,

i found the defrost timer for my Kenmore 596.62239200 / freezer on bottom. it was in the top of the refrigerator compartment behind the light bulb console. had to remove the light bulb cover and then there are two visible screws that hold the defrost timer to the light console. the timer is up on top of the console and is not easily seen. ordered parts on www.repairclinic.com.

We have the same problem with our 795-7501 bottom freezer. It is just under two years old. Top section is totally warm, top section lights are out so you cant change "cold number". Bottom unit is totally iced up behind the lower panel as if defrost has not worked for a long time. Anyone know which board is bad? Main board or defrost control board? Any further on this problem anyone??
Same problem. We defrosted and cleaned the coils, but still not cooling the fridge. Freezer is working like a champ
