If there is water in the drum it wont open, so you need to drop the drain hose low to gravity drain....then the door should open. sometimes this fault is due to a broken door catch utube is quite good for fitting help.

SOURCE: Door interlock flashing

Same issue with loose solder joint on the relays inside CCU (computer control unit)
the same bad CCU is used by several manufactures.
you have to open the CCU and re-solder the the relays to the board. they have microcracks around the legs.
you will get the door lock issue randomly.
to prove the issue open the top access panel .and pull up on the center black plastic connector and the issue will go away.

You have probably knocked of the connector or the catch (and on these it is very fragile as I have changed the catch 3 times on mine) is broken

If the catch is broken you are going to need to get at it from inside to release it.

This is usually best done by taking the top or back off and reaching in to release the lock.

Make sure you disconnect the electricty and water before trying this.

Door not opening how can I over ride this. have tried diff programmes but to not avail. Help have no pants!

There is an interlock in side the machine where the outer catch connects with the front panel. Unplug the machine. Take off lid. Put you hand down the front where the door catch connects and gingerly try to release the mechanism. If sucessful replace the interlock and put your pants on

Door latch broken on hotpoint wt761g washing machine. Machine has gone through wash cycle and emptied all the water, all lights have gone out but I can't open the door.

Depending on which part has gone, some hotpoints door trim post snaps which makes too much play not allowing door to open, in this case needs new door trim. others need drum to be empty of all Water, or could be door interlock faulty .give it a slight bang with your hand to ease open, remember has a 3 min delay on door....

Washing machine door wont open - hotpoint

Hi,
Never reach inside the washing machine with it connected to the mains. The door interlock is always live.
There are several reasons why a Hotpoint door could be jammed shut.
•A broken door catch or door frame where the door catch screws in (they are rubbish on many Hotpoints - always breaking) you can sometimes get the door open if you push the door firmly in as you open it
•If there is water still inside the washing machine, then the door wont open either on these Hotpoint washing machines (not on some others though) If this is the case, when you try to open the door the ****** won't try to move down at all. You can open the door usually if you drain the machine. (only applicable with door interlocks that have a rubber pressure hose attached to them)
•A faulty door interlock
•The pressure chamber can be blocked on some earlier Hotpoint washing machines which gives the same effect as having water in the machine. Basically the washer "thinks" there is water in when there isn't. This would require the washing machine being stripped down to remove and clean the pressure chamber bottle. This cause is only applicable to washing machines where a small rubber hose is connected to the door interlock. This hose allows the door mechanism to be locked and unlocked by air pressure activated by water rising inside the pressure chamber bottle attached at the other end on the tub. Gunge can block the very small aperture where the pressure hose fits to the pressure chamber bottle.

Door won't open on wf000

Hi,
Never reach inside the washing machine with it connected to the mains. The door interlock is always live!
There are several reasons why a Hotpoint door could be jammed shut. One of them is the part you describe which is called the ******. With some older Hotpoint models, there is a cable that runs from the door interlock to the motor. When you operate the door catch or button, this part "pecks" down onto the drive belt or the end of the armature's shaft. If the drum is moving, the ****** will slip on the rotating belt or armature and disengage the door interlock. If the drum is not moving, the ****** meets resistance and the door opens. Therefore if the ****** has come off, or is loose, it can stop the door opening. When you attempt to open the door does this part move?
Other things that can stop the door opening are -
A broken door catch or door frame where the door catch screws in (they are rubbish on many Hotpoint’s - always breaking) you can sometimes get the door open if you push the door firmly in as you open it

I have a hotpoint few12 washing machine and have just replaced the interlock door lock as door locked indicator kept flashing even though door was closed, sometimes happened mid cycle, and had to open...

hi
check the spring on the door handle/catch,the easiest way to check this if you close the door and it indicates that the door hasnt locked, push the inner part of the handle towards the machine,if it locks then the spring is worn.(this is more commen than the interlock).
