mcdevito75 here, Croton, a high quality watch, Best Bet is to look for a small watch repair shop in your area for the battery change, these quartz movements can easily be destroyed with mis-handleing and anyway a battery lasts at least 1 year.

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like you need a new quartz mechanism for your expensive watch, contact your watch company online, ----- Your watches name plus.com or check with any jeweler, watch repair in any large city in India. A new quartz mechanism and work is expensive depending on the value of your watch, it may pay just to replace the watch.

Replacing the battery yourself can be a risky business, as they are often sealed and as you found, need special tools to remove the back.

if the back has a notch on the top left of the cover (right underneath to what would be 10'oclock position), it is a 'Pop-up'. But if the watch has 6-8 notches on the back plate of the watch its a screw-off.
Its really hard to say what battery size it would take due to the fact that each watch has a different operating mechanism and its hard to determine that from the model number.

This watch requires a size 1620 battery, available at all Dakota Watch Company store locations, and most electronics stores. Dakota Watch Company always recommends taking your watch to one of our store locations or a reputable jeweler to reduce the risk of damaging your watch during a battery change.
