Hi,

Follow the procedures given below to have a perfect fix for your problem.

  • Press Menu button.

  • Toggle across from REC Mode to setup

  • Toggle down thrice from camera to setup 1

  • Toggle across into sub menu

  • Toggle down from four times to Initialize

  • Toggle across again to the sub-menu

  • Toggle up from cancel to OK

  • Press center button to accept the OK choice

  • Screen changes and so press okay again

  • It should restart the camera

  • Opening on the 'Clock Set' screen

Toggle down to cancel and use the camera and make sure that you have the camera to flash, if it works try again in the Auto function. If it is still not working dont worry follow the steps again two or three more times, As this is related to a software error message and not a hardware malfunction. If it is working then don't forget to set your Clock.

Thank you !!

It's a flash error. Most likely the flash fuse is blown. Has to be replaced (soldered as it's a SMD fuse). Sorry, but you will have to give it to a camera technician as it's a bit complicated and requires some experience. I have repaired lots of these - I have worked in a Sony service center.

I have this Electro GSN one. When I mounted a normal flash, the flash doesn't function. What is the solution? Does it need a special flash which differently? Thanks for your helps. Reap

You can use any flash that has one contact at the shoe.
Try using the PC flash cord to the flash socket on the camera body and see if the flash fires. If you see flash with pc flash cord and not with the accessory shoe, try cleaning the flash contacts at the hot shoe.
If no flash either using the hot shoe or the flash cord, try testing the flash. If the flash is good, you have to open up the camera to trouble shoot. The flash wire is connected to the shutter's flash contacts.

Engine code

12 and 55. The 55 means end of code session, the 12 means no distributor reference. Both of these codes are normal with the engine not running, so do not go out and purchase a dstributor. Is there another problem with the vehicle, or did you just want to know the codes? Comment back to continue, thanks.

Led with number 9 displayed is flashing

LED 9 flashing can mean many things. Here is the list of "flashing codes" for the vostro 1510.

Keep in mind a flashing led is going to blink 3 times. for example,

number one would look like this:

On (solid lit). Blink, blink, blink (paused off) blink, blink, blink... (paused off), (then repeat)

1. ON-FLASH-FLASH = No Ram or ram not seen
2. ON-FLASH-ON = Ram has a problem
3. FLASH-FLASH-FLASH = Motherboard failure (replace board)
4. FLASH-ON-ON = CPU Fault/failure
5. FLASH-ON-FLASH = LCD detect failure/fault
6. ON-ON-FLASH = MINI pci card (controller) failure/fault
7. FLASH-FLASH-OFF = Keyboard fault/failure
8. FLASH-OFF-FLASH = USB FAILURE
9. FLASH-FLASH-ON = Video BIOS or BIOS issue
10. ON-FLASH-FLASH = Modem issue

Depending on the blinking code, you might just need to re-seat or replace your RAM or your CPU. But then again, you could have a more severe motherboard issue.

Flash Problem

Using the flash When shooting with the built-in flash, open the flash manually. The flash does not pop-up automatically. The flash will not fire if it is closed. The flash will work when it is opened up. When the flash is open, the (flash on) icon or (automatic) icon will appear on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder). Flash on: The flash fires in every shot. Automatic: The flash fires automatically. Press the (flash) button to switch between the and flash modes while the flash is open. In some shooting modes, the flash mode does not switch even if the flash button is pressed. Please refer to Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode in the Camera User Guide provided with your camera for more information. When you are not using the flash, close it manually. When the flash is closed, the flash will not fire and the icon appears on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder).
