This washing machine has a front loader and display. The door lock goes into a plastic socket and the door is properly locked. The door light does not switch to green, however, and it doesn't start. All other buttons seem to work.
When the door is locked a small plastic box slides in position inside the socket. There seems to be two positions for the box. I am able to manually slide it back and forth. The box does not switch positions when I open the door. The box is connected to feathers on the device the socket and the box is a part of.
The machine isn't that old but it has been in storage for a couple of years.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
After turn and choose cycle by program switch, press the Start / Pause button otherwise the program will not start.
If you did everything right then the "Cd" should appear on the display, which means door lock failure.
green = The door can be opened
av = The door can not be opened at the moment
red = Door is open

Try:
Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
Rate me pl.....if helped.

Rather than taking the top off the machine and fiddling around to find the catch as guest suggests, I got it to open with some strong string. I took a fairly long piece and threaded it into the groove where the door joins the metal front of the machine, on the catch side of the door. Then pull both ends of the string very hard to the left (you may want to wear gloves to protect your hands). Pull hard and move the string up and down until the door opens. Worked for me.

SOURCE: Washing machine door lock problem
Just try to check the door latch device. Be sure that the latch is not bound or sticking in any way .This problem with a lot of machines and it almost always was the door lock latch assembly. It has a switch inside it that pauses or stops the cycle if the door is not closed properly, when this switch malfunctions then it will pause or stop the cycle repeatedly; just from the small movement of the wash cycle. The door will actually be shut all the way and the lock may be on. You must replaced this switch so it works normal again..

You will need to change the carbon brushes in the motor. Tip machine 45 deg backwards you might need someone to hold for you and look at motor underneath you will see 2 black carbon brushes remove these and replace if worn then retry machine also make sure the wires to the motor are ok.
