Timer light continues flashing; won't turn on/off

I have a Mitsubishi WD 65" 1080p DLP tv that is about 3 years old. I think the model # is WD-65731. I went to turn it off and the timer light started flashing non-stop. The tv turned off, but will not turn back on. I tried the "reset" button several times, but to no avail. I unplugged the set for several days, when I powered it back up, the timer light just continues to blink but the tv won't power up. What is wrong with the tv? Please help

if the light just constantly blicks green and doesnt stop. You will need the" V26 DM repair kit " which will usually repair that issue. You can get the repair kit at the following link which includes the replacement capacitor and instructions

You need to replace the "light engine". This is very very difficult. You need to take it to a repair shop. But this will be very expensive. Around $1,000.00

The first would be excessive dust causing inadequate airflow through the lamp cage. Cleaning the filter may resolve the problem.

It could also be that one, or both, of the temperature sensors could be defective. This is a known problem to the extent that Mitsubishi extended the warranty an extra two years on your model and similar models with the same design.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc (MDEA) 2006 DLP® Projection Televisions Models: WD-52631, WD-57731, WD-65731, WD-Y57, WD-Y65, WD-57732, WD- 65732, WD-57831, WD-65831.
As part of our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, MDEA is announcing an extension of the warranty coverage to replace the thermal sensor for the above referenced models. For a period of two additional years beyond the one year limited warranty, MDEA will cover the cost of the thermal sensor (parts and labor) at no charge. All other terms of the MDEA limited warranty will continue to apply.

Volume turns on and no picture

Hello:

Depending upon your model, Mitsubishi did have a factory recall on some of their DLP TVs with a lamp cooling related issue (a faulty thermal sensor). This repair is covered by Mitsubishi if your model is one of those with the known issue.

Please feel free to contact us at www.DLPLampSource.com or by telephone at 866-764-5822 and we would be happy to assist with more information.

Mitsubishi DLP WD 65731 TV

the buzzing noise you are hearing is from the lamp ballast as it strikes the lamp. that is quite normal but it should only be momentary. it should not be constant.
