Why would the drain pump on an LG top load washer would run continuoulsy?

Yes, that does sound like it is the control panel, as that would cause the machine to do weird random things as you are describing. The part should be available at searspartsdirect.com or my favorite, easyapplianceparts.com. Just type in the model number of your machine and diagrams, parts and prices will appear. Make sure the drain hose is not sealed to the drain pipe, and that the hose is not shoved into the drain allowing the end of the hose to reach the trap. That will prevent the machine from syphoning out the rinse water as it fills.

Washer sticks on wash cycle; runs continuosly on spin cycle

That sounds like you have one of them fancy water saving outfits with a diverter valve that dumps the pump water continuosly over the clothes. Weirdest washer I ever saw. Could be the solenoid that opens the drain pump has failed. Don't know too much about em but I do have the service manual. Post your model number for a more precise answer. My washer will not keep water in the tub. The

Hi, You need to make sure the drain hose is as high as the top of the washer. If the drain hose is to low, the water wil drain out before it reaaches the proper water level.

Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.
