Kenmore Elite HE3 110.4586 makes a very loud, rapid knocking noise during the rinse cycle. The unit is balanced because it is not moving around.

Your spider arm could be damaged; one of the 3 arms turning your tub, which is inside a sealed unit. This is an expensive fix. Type on your model mentioned in blue above, you wil come to a page, look in the middle & type your problem, or go to all fixes mentioned close by. There are plenty of solutions there. One reason for this could be unbalanced loads. Clothes must be evenly spread before washing, not just dumped, especially large sheets. This is free help, from nice people, Fixya has quite a number.

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

Washing machine knocks and dims lights only during rinse cycle

Possible that the bearings are a suspect, if the machine seems to wobble around. Also if the load is high, does the noise go higher, if so check the suspension, check the mounting and the counter weights.

My kenmore 417 wahser making too much noise, it looks like the inner tub hitting the outer plastic housing. How can I fix it?

Have you tried moving the clothes around in the drum to balance the drum BEFORE you was them? If that works, you have solved the problem! Most people forget that when cloth gets wet it gets heavy so leaving the clothes unevenly placed in the drum dry will make a real problem when they get wet!

Kenmore elite type 580 no: 27087603 works well machine has been leveled and load is balenced yet it sound like theres a train running past in your back yard ' why so loud

Lol, the spin cycle on them is so powerful it will walk around your uitlity closet. Unly suggestion is to use wood or some other wedge to make a tight squeeze between the machine and the wall. This will keep the spin from allowing the machine to move or make loud noises.

Our 5 year old washer makes loud knocking noise and moves during the final rinse cycle. We have balanced it, checked the feet, leveled it to no avail. It is getting worse and the last wash cycle we had a...

Sounds like you have a belt issue. Take the back off and look around. The belt probally just came off of the pully or the motor. If you dont see anything wrong then leave the back off and watch what happens when you get to the rinse cycle. Im guessing though that you will see a fray in the belt ergo why it still works kinda. To replace it you need the model number and make. And just reverse the way you take it out. Hope it helps and let me know what you find.

The suspension springs are not expensive and is usually the problem with a noisy (unbalanced) spin cycle.
