65''mitsubishi dlp tv is now getting permenant white dots on screen. Have about 10 pin head white dots.
Why? How do I get rid of them??

I am Sorry to Hear regarding the Problem.
From the information you have provided the problem is being caused by the optical block. Sorry to say replacement of the optical block is the only thing that will correct the problem. You are looking at a $1000 to $1500 repair if the TV is out of warranty. Sony had the same problem with their DLP TV sets and extended the warranty to cover the repair. You might want to call Mitsubishi and complain about the problem. Persistent consumers can often get the manufacture to cover at least part of the repair cost.

The Complaint is for Samsung for the Same White Spots.

As we Discuss, i have many Clients who paid ONLY for the price of the Part. As of now, you could keep on using it . On an average, i guess this Unit would still run for Few Weeks / Months.

Hooey. I've had my 65" Mitsubushi for 6 years and it developed white spots like reproducing rabbits. For under $200,00 the DLP DMD Chip was bad. Got on the internet and found the replacement had it three days. Repair time is about one hour watching You Tube removal and replacement. My picture is now as good as it was when it was new in 2007.

White dots are caused by the dlp chip failing. It controls millions of tiny mirrors that create the picture. When the mirrors get stuck it can cause white or black dots. Only replacing the dlp chip (also known as the DMD) will fix it. You might want to check out Mitsubishi's website for part info as to whether the DMD is availible or if the entire optical block
(the projector part of the tv) needs replacement. I would guess the cost to be at least $400 parts and labor to replace the DMD and at least several hundred to replace optical block.
I have a WD-65c9 About 5 years old, Had one white dot show up on the screen. Right away I knew some thing was wrong. I took off back cover and also took off the part that has the DMD fan. Cleaned every thing up real good, put back together and white dot was gone. Hope this helps some one.

Thanks for using FixYa. The first thing you can do is to take the back of the TV and blow the dust off, please make sure this is done while the TV is unplugged. If this does not help then the lamp should be replaced, also you can try to take the lamp out and then put that back in before replacing. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else

Call Mitsubishi at 800 332-2119 with you TV model and serial number and they will set you up for a service call with a local TV Repaired which they have certified to install the DLP chip as per the factory instructions. The cost ends up half price and the TV looks better than when you first bought it due to the new and improved DMD chip.

Have a 65" DLP Mitsubishi TV about 4 years old.
Problem is I have a great picture and everything else is fine but am now receiving small white dots on right side of TV from top to bottom. Probably have 50 or so small white dots as of now and they continue to appear.
Been going of for about 3 weeks now. Dust? Something the average homeowner can fix?? Is it ok to still run TV?
Getting small white permanent white dots on right hand side of screen from top to bottom.

At the cost of fixing, I can spend $1499 and buy a new Dlp of the same size. 65" Mitsubishi. So probably won't fix it. Heck can't afford it anyhow.
