Stop the pendulum of the clock exactly at any even hour. Lets say at 6.00. While clock is steady and not working, pull off the minute and hour hands off the pinion, but do not brake them. You have to pull without any twisting action. This will leave pinions exactly in place they were when you stopped the clock. When it is done - push the hour hand back onto the pinion and make sure it is pointing at 4 (not 6, as it was when you stopped the clock). When hour hand is back in place and pointing at 4, push back minute hand as it was when you pulled it off - pointing at 12. Make sure hands will not catch when passing each other (you can bend them slightly if needed). Now swing pendulum to start the clock and adjust time (clockwise only). Never adjust time when clock is chiming. Rate me, plz.

Not sure if first attempt went through so i will try again. We were moving a sligh grandfather clock and the brass weights fell and the weights inside came out which weights go in which brass?

with most old clocks the weights were a means of moving the gears in the clock instead of using a spring
If I am right , to wind up the clock you pulled one lot of weights down and the weights then slowly changed positions from one up to one down
normally the lh weight is the wind up weight and is slightly lighter the than the rh weight
your problem will be determining the correct weight for the rh side as too heavy and the clock will gain time and too light will loose time

How to sync. an old Black Forest cuckoo clock.

Suppose the cuckoo is calling three and the time is showing eleven, then to synchronize, simply stop the clock till the time is the same as the bird (three) and restart the clock at that time.

If the error persisys, then pull off the hour hand, and replace it at the synchonized time.

I have a sunbeam 882-1285 and can't set the chimes to match the time of day, need help

I have owned this exact clock for 30 years. Syncing the chimes with the time is very simple.

1. Flip the second switch from "Start" to "Set."

2. Use the thumbwheel to move the hands to the desired time.

3. Use the four "H" and "M" buttons to set the time for the chime.
— For example, if the desired time is 12:05, press the first button 1 time, the second button 2 times, skip the third button for 0, and then press the fourth button 5 times.
— If the desired time is 9:00, you only need to press the second button 9 times (all unpressed buttons default to 0).

4. When you're ready for the clock to begin using the time you've set, flip the switch from "Set" to "Start."

That's it! It's that easy.

I just purchased a Heritage Mint Ltd Timepiece Quartz Regulator wall clock but it chimes two hours slower than the actual time. Need to know how to correct it. There is a red push button on the back of...

I have the same clock. Here's what I did to re-set it after changing batteries: After replacing batteries, use the turn dial to set the correct time. Press the RED button 6 times, wait for it to go through that series of chimes, then press the button again to set the time.
Example: Press RED button 6 times. Wait for it to chime. Press RED button the correct number of times for the hour to be set. For 5:00, press the button 5 times, etc.
I lost the directions to my clock, and I am posting this from memory and also just had to re-set mine and it works OK now.
Hope this helps!

I have an eco drive and recently in trying to set the clock back to regular time, I must have done something wrong. The time is correct but the date, and day are one day forward. How do I correct this?

the crown of the watch has two clicks, pull it gently once and you can set the date and day, pull it gently again a second time and you can set the time. The proper way to set the time and date is to set first the day, date late at the actual date, then move the hands around the clock until the date change at 12 oclock this is evening, then moving the hands around until you reach the actual time. By doing so you will set the day, date and time in syn to 24 hrs change.

example: you want to change it to sat 12th 11am
set the day and date to fri 11th
then move the hands around clockwise until the day and date change at 12 oclock continue moving the hands until you reach 11am

You were not very specific about you clock description, Many of the German clocks were using auto correct features.

You may not have this function.

Move the hour hand to the correct hour.

Hope this tip help you.
