The train is not responding to the remote.

Is there a manual switch on the train itself? The train is not responding to the remote even though it has fresh batteries. Also any tips on how to keep the train from shutting off before it gets a head of steam would be helpful.

I had a similar problem with my 11000 Holiday Tradition Express. I cleaned the track with an eraser (pencil-type) and then used a soft cloth to clean any possible residue. After doing this twice, my train is now running.

If this is the G plastic model, I installed a 2000mAmp battery that fits in the coal car --sometimes with some filing to make the space bigger. using the C's does not really provide enough power for very long. So track cleaning is for the traditional engines that run metal tracks with a transformer. I found the battery on line -- wholesaletrains.com as an accessory to any of the G sets. As you need a battery that will fit the coal car.

RECIEVER DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY REMOTES

There will be something wrong with the remote sensor on the device itself. Maybe the LED has failed. The only other possible explanation is that it has a dual remote mode. And somehow it has been switched to that. Only a factory reset would cure that. But the question is can that be done without a remote? Though unless you have read in the manual that it has a dual remote mode I would go on the faulty sensor. First check that there is not something blocking the sensor!

Hi I have a Rio Grande Train set that I bought for my son. The train works but is not responding or working when we use the remote . Ive out brand new batteries in the remote the light comes on when we...

Look for a small opening with little white tabs that can be moved up and down, on both the train and the remote. All the tabs must be in the same position. ( Same thing on a garage door opener.)
If that's not it, make sure the batteries are in correctly in both items, reversed batteries will run lites and such, but not remote controls.

The tv will not respond to remote control but will from control panel. Is there an easy fix or is it not worth the repair costs

You have to make sure the problem isn't with the remote. If you can borrow a remote or try to get a universal remote. If it responds at all then the problem was just your remote. that is a cheap annoying problem. If it still won't respond then it is a problem on the mainboard. It can be the infrared receiver or something else. If you can get a repair estimate that will tel you if it is worth fixing. You need to know what a replacement is worth and then add up all the costs for the repair ie shipping, repair bill, taxes etc. Even though the tv remote doesn't work the tv itself should continue to run just fine. You can put it on a cable box and then use the box to control channel and sound. That gets around buying a new tv and saves a few $$.

Tuner stops responding to remote though led

Well, if the remote has any kind of function working the set I would say the set is ok. Try replacing the batteries, if that doesn't help, then run to your local retail discount store and grab a cheapo universal remote, program it and see. If that fails then in the shop it goes. ( I doubt it tho )

Tv switches itself on and off no picture

Just had this happen to me. It's caused by a failure of the power supply board. Replacing the power supply should fix this issue.

This appears to be a very comon problem.
