A lot of independant phone shops unlock phones, i took my 5310 to one place about 3 weeks ago. they said it'd be a month or so before they had updated software to unlock it, but told me to hold on to it because they will be able to do it.
This won't help people who needs their phone unlocked at the moment, but I didn't realize this until I researched it. If you get a cell phone from your carrier, they can give you the code to unlock it. The thing is you actually need the phone with you and your sim card in it, after they get the needed information from the cellphone, they will email you instructions how to unlock it, usually 24-48 hours later. When you get the instructions, you are free to unlock that cell phone. Then you can use it for any network, or sell it. (Sorry Emil)

THE SOLUTION
To unlock your Nokia 5310 phone you will need to enter combination of numbers. These numbers are just math calculation of IMEI number of your phone. To find your phones IMEI number, look under the battery for it - it is 15 digits - or simply enter *#06# and it will appear on your phone screen.
There are different online services that will generated the unlock code for your IMEI number for just about 20$. I can recommend this one (cheap and reliable).
