Stupid question, but here goes: Have you set the time? Once the time is set, the screen should go away.

If this isn't the case, then I suggest resetting the camera:
take out the batteries for about 5 minutes and then re-insert them.

How to set self timer for D90

Instructions for this are on Page 179 of the D-90 users manual. First go to the menu and select the custom settings menu then scroll down to "timers/AF Lock."

Select this then select the number of shots you want the camera to take at one time on the self timer setting. Exit the menu.

Then go to the top of the camera and find the little button to the right of the control panel which contains a series of stacked rectangles.

Depress this button (camera must be on) and the control panel will clear. Rotate the wheel on the back of the camera while holding the button down until you see a little clock symbol.

If you have set it in the menu to take only one shot, you will see only the little clock. If you have set it to take multiple shots you will see the series of stacked rectangles next to the little clock.

Depress the shutter fully then walk or run to get in the picture. Just before the picture shoots, the autofocus light will flash warning you that the picture is about to be taken. The camera will shoot in the amount of time you have selected in the menu.

If you want to shoot another delayed shutter picture, repeat the procedure using the button and wheel.

My camera makes a beeping noise EVERY time I push a button on it! It's really annoying! How do I turn the beeping noise off???

Tap MENU to bring up the menu screen. Tap the wrench tab to access the Setup menu. Scroll down if needed, and select "Sound Settings." Turn off the "Button Sound" and, if desired, the "Shutter Sound."

This is described in the "Sound Settings" subsection of the "Setup Menu" section of the manual (page 148 in my copy).

How do I set the time and date on a Panasonic DMC-LZ4

1. Press the menu/set button. This will bring up a menu.
2. Press arrow left (the button left of the menu/set button).
3. Press arrow down (the button below the menu/set button). This will select the setup menu (so, a wrench icon should be brighter than an icon of a camera).
4. Press arrow up or down (these buttons are above and below the menu/set button respectively) to highlight clock set.
5. When clock set is highlighted press the right arrow button (button right of the menu/set button).
6. Press right or left to select what settings you want to change.
7. Press up or down to get numbers according as you want them.
8. Repeat 6. and 7. as desired.
9. Press menu/set several times to exit menu options.

My Olympus Camedia C-750 will not turn on. When I start it, the screen looks normal but then goes blank. it stays lighted and then beeps several times then makes a noise like a picture has been taken,...

If those batteries are definitely good then the electronics of unit have gone haywire. Contact Olympus to see if there is some sort of hidden code to reset electronics to factory defaults.

I have a W560, but maybe it's the same on your camera. It was driving me insane as well. On my camera, I went to the menu, under Main Settings there was something called "Beep." It gave the options of "Shutter, High, Low, and Off." If I chose Shutter, then it keeps a shutter-like noise when you take a picture but turns off the annoying beep whenever you push any other button. I assume if you choose Off it will turn off all noises.

Hope that helps!

DXG-308 Digital Camera

To activate the timer, press the menu button (round center button in middle of arrows) then press the right arrow once until you see a cirlce with a line through it. Then press the down or up arrow and it will turn it on. You know this when the line disappears. Then press the menu button again and you are set. You will see the timer clock on the display screen. To turn it off just repeat the steps.

Camera will not stay on.....

the 3 beeping sound means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

Wrong date and/or time

Whenever you change the batteries in your camera you need to reset the clock. You can use the LCD screen Settings menu or set the camera's clock from your computer.
