E20 on your machine means some sort of drain problem. If it actually goes through the spin cycle fine; some water will still not drain out at the time of the tumble dry. Check the wall drain to make sure it isn't clogged..
Check the drain of your wall, not the washer, this shd be cleaned out thoroughly; and the exit pipe of your washer should not fit too tight into it, there shd be some space for air.
E20 means you have a drain problem. Check the drain filter on your machine to make sure it isn't blocked by fluff/coins/etc. Should work again unless you have a bust pump (which I had).
If machine is full of water, do an emergency drain through the little pipe on the bottom front. Good luck.
E20 is a drain problem. Clean out the drain filter, normally found bottom of machine. Do emergency drain first or you will flood the room if there is water sitting in drum. Hopefully you just have a blocked filter or pipe, otherwise you may have to replace pump if it has failed.
You've answered your own question. E20 is a draining failure. Blockage in the sump hose, pump, drain hose or faulty pump. Clear the blockage or replace the pump if faulty and you'll clear the fault.
I had the same problem (E20) for a long time and tried everything in the manual before I called AEG to have someone stop by and fix it.
He took the whole top off as well as the back and pulled out all this fuzz that was stopped somewhere. He said it normally comes from using too much detergant and also from not letting the machine run empty every now and then....but it doesn't say to do this in the manual. And anyway, I can't imagine that using too much wash powder made 1/2 kg of fluff.
I still have a guarantee on the machine, but they say that because it is my fault that I got E20 I have to pay for the repairment myself.
I actually think that they build the machine purposly in this way to keep up the money flow. I have an attorney on the case now.
E20 = Problems with water drain in wash phase
ALARM CODES
E20
Is the drain filter clean;
Problems during draining phase
(Machine tries to drain for 10 min without emptying the tub)
Checks to do:
E20
Is the drain
pump working?
Is the value of the pump about 200Ω?
(Measure directly
the connector by
the board,
between J2-2 and
J2-7) ; If No
Change the
pump and run
again
Clean the filter;
Is the draining system OK (drain hose
and plumbing where machine is
connected)
Free and check the draining system;
Is the pump blocked?
Is there any burn
mark on the control board; if yes
Change the board
E90 = Communication error between user interface and main board.
Verify the connector between the
main board and user interface
board by plugging and unplugging
the connector few times on both
sides, OR replace the blue ribbon cable.
The fault could have been caused
by oxidized contacts in user
interface plugged in the main
board.

if the wash cycle runs ok then unlikely to be the drain pump or hoses. put drain hose into a bucket and check waster comes out during dry - it wont be large amounts of water. can you hear the drain pump running during the dry cycle?
