Cybershot 7.2 Hi - My camera can take photos on the twilight setting only. All other settings it appears to be recording, but not taking an actual photo. Is there a quick fix for this?

Have you tried resetting all settings on the camera? On a Sony camera, it is called "initialize". The initialize setting is found by going to the menu, and tabbing down until you find an option called either "reset settings" or "initialize settings" and then confirm it.
Many times that will fix the issue, in case something has either been enabled/disabled on accident, or the software is sticking (which happens from time to time)

When you rotate the mode dial, does camera change the mode? Maybe it switches only between video and twilight modes and when you set the dial to, for example, Auto mode, it's actually in Video mode? I have seen problems like this before with these cameras, mode dial had to be changed. If so, you should contact your local Sony service center and ask the price. On digital cameras it is always best to press the button half way down before taking the picture. This helps the camera focus, thus preventing blurry images. Always, always press the button half way down. Secondly, if you are still getting blurry pictures, there is a possiblity that the sensor in your camera is bad. I don't know how old your camera is or how long you've had it, but you would need to send it for repair, exchange it, or if it's under warranty maybe they'll send you a new one.

You will find a setting that will date/time stamp the actual image when it's taken. Please take a look in your manual. Most cameras have this feature.

You can try to bring it back to its original settings. Get the user's manual and try to reset it all. Let me know if it doesn't work.

    This message appears when the lens assembly start malffunctioning. Therefore, You have to replace the Lens Block Assy. For this plz contact any nearest Sony Service Centre nearby to u.

Reset the camera... go to menu-initialize-ok ... like the previous solution... does yur camera after u take the photo say in red "RECORDING" for few seconds?

if you want good photos with your k850i . go to camera settings then go into scenes then select twilight portrait. then go into seeting in camera mode turn on image stabilizer turn picture qulity into fine. note-- when u clicks photo keeep away your fingers from flash ............

Initialize the Camera; select Initialize under Setup 2 Menu in the Main Menu. Reset the time and date. This should help

I had the same problem with my camera.  I found that changing the mode from Multi Burst to Normal allows the camera to take normal pictures.  Go to Menu and scroll over to Mode, then select Normal.
