Where is the scanner lock button of kyocera 4012i? to solve C3100 it says check the scanner lock

The scanner lock button on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i is located on the left-hand side of the machine, towards the back of the scanner unit. It is a small lever that can be turned to lock or unlock the scanner unit.
To solve the C3100 error on the Kyocera TASKalfa 4012i, you should first check to make sure that the scanner lock is in the unlocked position. If the scanner lock is already unlocked, the issue may be related to the scanner motor or the scanner home position sensor.
In this case, it is recommended that you contact Kyocera technical support or a certified Kyocera service technician for assistance in resolving the issue.

C3100 call service

C3100 is a scanner carriage problem... The error code indicates that the "home signal" is not reaching the main board in the required time; The problem could be a bad board, bad motor or something mechanical...

Keeping it simple: look through the copy glass; there are two main parts or carriages. The first part is the assembly with the lamp and single mirror. The second part is the assembly with two mirrors. Both of these *ssemblies ride on rails and are connected to each other by a system of cables and pulleys. When unboxed, the KM3035 has 3 yellow screws on the upper left cover that lock the scanner assembly to prevent damage during transit... were these screws removed? Does the scanner assembly move at all when you power the machine on? Look through the copy glass: the scanner cables should be seen connected to the carriages and going around the pulleys; the cables should not be loose or laying on the deck. The home sensor might not be visible to you if the both carriages are in the way, but it is a small black object with two projections. A flag on the carriage slides between the gap created by the projections (this is the home position). Looking through the glass, the sensor is located at the left rear corner and it should not be hanging or tilted.
