My toshiba (AW-1190S) washing machine lidlock cannot open ?

Toshiba top load washers have standard error codes. Depending on the display (2 or 3 digits depending on the model) it will either show E21 (or E23) or alternate E2 and -1 (or E2 and -3). Here's a list of most Toshiba washers error codes;

E1: Water doesn't drain in time or not at all
E21: Lid open
E23: Lid not locking
E31: Load imbalance
E32: Check E1 and/or E31
E5: No water coming in

You can try resetting to factory default by following the procedure: Power OFF, then pressing and holding the Super Spin Dry button, press power ON and it should beep 3 times. E2 error code aw 8990st toshiba wash Washing Machines

Sounds like it has been locked. Is the power on it on or off? It will lock the lid, as shown by a red light (normally). Switch the power off, and it should unlock. If not, unplug it and it should unlock itself. If it does not do that, it may be that the lock is engaged and the mechanism damaged. Let us know what you find out after turning the power off, or unplugging it.
