SOURCE: replacing timer

  • push the timer in and turn it counter clockwise. this should unscrew it.
  • if that does not work, check the back of the timer for a black plastic tab. pull it out to unlock the timer knob from the timer.
  • there are many different styles of timer knobs.

Tip the machine back remove the belt try to turn the drive pulley manually . sorry the larger pulley in the centre. if you can turn it counter clockwise and feel the inner drum moving then the thrust bearing is ok. if not you may need to replace it.Also a bad lid switch can cause this problem.

SOURCE: Maytag Washing Machine Cycles Out of Sync with Dial

ive fixed lots off washers over the years[15,000 service calls] and was careful while taking parts off if i wasn't fulmilure with that model, but most timers and knobs have a key way so the knob can only go on one way.if thats not true for you, try this.turn the timer shaft till the washer is at the end of the wash cycle.[finished the load,it would be the final spin ,maybe five minutes long.when thats done the timer advances to off]now knowing that thats an off position set on your knob and then manuly turn it to the off position of the next cycle if it wont run you did it. if not you will have to go to the end of that cycle and remove knob and set to next notch in the knob, until you find the sweet spot.hope this helps God bless, tom

Removing timer knob on maytag washer mav2755aww

It unscrews or if it is a newer model, remove the console so you can tip it forward. You will see a (usually black or white) pin in the center of the timer, pull it out about and inch and then remove the knob from the front by pulling it off the timer shaft. Check you new timer and make sure it comes with one. So did some did not. Good luck.

No screws in the front of my maytag topload washer. do I acess the timer from the rear

Yes you do remove the rear plate by removing the back screws remove the knob off the timer if there is a nut holding it to the frame loosen it but do not remove until you take the back cover off when replacing the timer remove one wire at a time to keep them in order. Please rate if helpful.

Maytag A806 washing machine leaking from the center, under the tub

The tub seal is bad.
I had the same issue on another model.
You can attempt to repair this yourself. I suggest that you do a search on Youtube to see if this is a job you want to take on. It took me 2 hours to change mine. The seal kit and tools are sold online.
Good luck.

Servis washing machine

There was a service bullitin on this model concerning the lid switch and this sounds like your problem. Maytag redesigned it because of excessive failures. The new switch kit part number is 12001908. I don't know if you would have any luck contacting Maytag with regards to repairing this for free, but you could check. For reference the bullitin they put out was TCL-0001-b. If you cannot get anywhere with them, it's not a hard fix. We should be able to walk you through it. Catriver..post back
