I believe I would be taking it back for either a refund or replacement.

SOURCE: Ice maker not dumping ice

Make sure the freezer is at least 17 degrees or colder (colder is better). If you have a square cover on the end of the ice maker see if you can pull it off and press on the gear face (don't turn just press). That may clean the electrical contact springs and get it working again. Basically if ya got water, 17 degrees or colder you will get ice. Other than that the ice maker motor module is likely bad (broken gear, etc.). Pretty common.

SOURCE: Whirlpool refrigerator ED22TEXHW01 ice maker

Tammi, you first want to check to make sure the water inlet tube to the icemaker is not frozen shut. Next, get yourself a jumper wire about 4 inches long with the ends stripped exposing the wire on each end. Pull off the ice maker cover, it will pull right off. Now you are looking at the module. On the module, left side, you will see two test points marked V and L. Insert one end of the jumper wire into V and the other marked L. You are now sending 120 volts to the water valve and water should fill the ice maker providing the inlet tube is not frozen over. If it doesn't fill, you either have a bad water valve or module itself. Also check to see if the clips that hold the center gear on the module are not broken. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Ice maker "ticking" sound?

Mine started doing the same thing. The problem with mine was that the part that spins around to eject the ice is hung up... first, it was trapping an ice cube in it... I cleared the cube and it stopped making noise for a while, then a cube hung up again. Now I found that one of the 'teeth,' all the way to the right, was stuck under the housing... the part is bent, and needs to be replaced.

Check the part that spins to make sure nothing is stuck. Service is expected in home soon (I hope).

SOURCE: Ice maker not dumping ice

Hello,
My lady friend has the same problem with her ice maker. The problem is, the ice tray is broken on the end. I took her ice maker out and found out it was broken. Its going to be hard finding a replacement since they don't make parts anymore.

Good Luck !!!

The ice maker isn't dumping any ice, the ice maker in on, I can hear it turning but no ice

Your not getting any water to the ice machine. It could have a bad solenoid valve or the feed tube that feeds it is frozen. The feed tube comes through the wall of the fridge and dumps water into the ice try. Pull as much stuff out as you can to be able to see the feed tube. Get a flashlight and see if it is blocked. If it is, get a blow dryer and melt the clog until water flows freely

We replaced the ice maker in our Samsung refrigerator and now we cannot get the water to dispense once we cut the water back on. What do we need to check?

By your question, you are saying you are not receiving water from the water dispenser. Make sure the electrical connector you disconnected when making the ice maker repair is securely re-seated. If you removed the door to make this repair, there is also a connector at the top of the door make sure it is also seated. The only other connection for water or ice delivery is at the water inlet at bottom rear of fridge. There are two relays at the water inlet, one for water, one for ice. If these were disturbed recheck that they were reconnected. Of course these checks should be performed with the power cord disconnected to prevent shock. Once all is checked, plug fridge back in. When dispensing water you should hear a solid clunk as the relay engages. As for the ice dispenser you will only hear the clunk as it requires water to fill the tray. Just remember to allow for two complete cycles (fill - freeze - dump) before receiving full cubes. Oh, by all means don't forget to make sure the Ice bucket full lever (Usually a thick wire) running the length of the bucket Is in the down (empty) position. If it is up, this turns off the ice maker indicating the bucket is full. New ice maker units usually come packaged with the (bailer wire) in the up (off) position.
Hope this info helps!

Maytag H2O MFI2568AES Ice Maker keeps jamming

Most ice and water units have heater elements inside the door and in the ice chute itself to prevent water and ice from freezing in those areas. Its possible that one of the heater elements has failed. You will need a wiring diagram and a meter to test if the element is OK or not.

My ice maker has quit making cubes & makes blocks, why?

Good day,
3 possibilities. One is the fill tube that runs from the back wall and feeds the ice maker. If it is not fitting the rear of the wall or resting in the inlet of the ice maker it could cause some if not all of the water when it goes to fill to go directly into the bucket instead of the ice maker.
You need to remove the ice maker (3 screws and a wire plug and adjust the fill tube and check it is not plugged up with ice.

It is a male to female insert, a poor design, o a proper tight fit is important.

The more common problem is where none of the above is an issue, but rather the water valve in the back rear of the machine is not shutting off completely after a fill cycle causing the ice maker to overfill and cause the excess to run into the bucket.
The valve is none repairable and need to be replaced with a new one.

Lastley, I have seen some of these icemakers not shut off after a fill, and continuesly cycle causing this problem. If this is the issue, you will need to replace the ice maker.

You will need to make some observations to see exactly which of the above is the true problem. Patience is your friend here.

My EdgeStar Portable Ice Maker stopped making ice

The ice bucket is probably cracked we have had three that have all done the exact same thing all different name brands. Just order a new ice bucket. Good Luck and my advice is to purchase a extended warranty on these because its not a matter of if it will break its when. Edgestar lasted the longest it lasted 1yr and 7months.
