4Just had a power outage that messed everything up on our Samsung. Followed the posts here on this site and everything is now working correctly. I pushed and held the Energy Saver button and the Lighting button for 8 to 10 seconds and the display panel corrected its self and returned to normal operations.

3I had the same problem after an outage and the call center did not help at all. I googled the problem and found the solution "press and hold the power cool and power freeze for about 8 seconds" not 3 seconds like it says in the manual and it worked!

3Hi all just to tell you we called Samsung over the problems we were having with our fridge freezer and were amazed to find out that they would send out a engineer to Fix it free of charge even after the warrantee had run out.it has to be the first time you've called them out - they changed the sensor and checked it over give then a call you might be glad you did

2Anybody wondering what happens when your not home after a power interruption, perhaps at work or on vacation, Well this happened to me three times now. Everyhting thawed in the freezer and all food spoiled in the fridge. The power was off for 6 hours, 20 mins. When it came back on the fridge would not run. The display goes blank and so does your fridge until someone, at some point resets it by holding down the buttons. I would never buy a digital display fridge again for this reason. It does not resume to work until it is prompted by the activation of resetting the display!!

1Can I just say Thank You all for your postings. i had a power outage and Samsung told me I needed to have a technician come and gave me a number to call. Called them and they had no idea what to do and wanted to send someone with no idea of cost at all. Frustrated I hung up and decided to search the web. your rock and saved me probable $100 plus. Samsung is out of touch! I have the french door fridge and pushed the lighting and power freeze and it reset within 10 seconds. Now why wouldn't power outage info be in Samsung's user guide?

0I usually plug out my fridge occasionally if Im out for extended period of time, and when I get back just simply plug it back in, works perfectly for four years like than. However this time it refused to switch back on, a light flashes on the display, the water dispenser works and the lights work but nothing else. Finally did what everyone here did and it worked. Now I need to understand why this is suddenly happening.

SOURCE: My Samsung refrigerator will not cool
Call Samsung. I had the same problem when Best Buy delivered mine. The delivery people left the fridge in demo mode. The people at Samsung will talk you through it, it is very simple. The fridge should work fine then.
SOURCE: GE Profile Refrigerator PFS22SISBSS Bottom Freezer Temperature Indicators
I finally called GE about the non-working LED's and the temperature fluctuation. It's a known problem as many consumers have posted online. I called 800-386-1215 several times. What I found is I'd get different menu options nearly each time I called. The way I got to a 'helpful' human follows: Call above number; you will/may here a voice that states only 'for recalled appliances press 9' (may also have options for repair or parts) PRESS 0; next menu PRESS 5; you'll hear 'for less than 1 yr old press 1' and 'for more than 1 yr press 2'. In my case I pressed 2, then got a menu with 'for refrigerators PRESS 2'. Spoke to a woman who never denied that GE has a motherboard problem. She offered to provide a free motherboard but no labor. I asked (to be sure) if I would have to pay labor, she said yes or I could have $400 off a new crappy GE fridge. She said I would have to have a repairman come to diagnose the problem, then order the part and then come back to repair. I then said, 'You're telling me that I have to pay for TWO service calls to repair a known GE defect???? How much should I expect to pay for these TWO service calls???' She then asked me to hold, then came back on the line and told me that GE would pay the labor for the repair.
I also asked if GE was willing to do anything about the 25 cent door latch that cracked after 11 months (and is attached to the door gasket a $228.00 part) or the rusting wire freezer baskets and was told no. Hey, worth a try! The fact that they said no ensures that I will continue on my crusade to warn anyone who'll listen not to buy GE! Keep calling, after I got the right menu the wait was short the whole call was less than 15 minutes.

Totally up to you. Most people set them for the temp they like their milk and the firmness of their icecream
