Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. There is a tiny reset button to the left of the timer light. Press with a pin or something small, wait 60 seconds. Viola!

Here is how you fix the problem. Turn off the power to your TV for 10 seconds, then turn on. Thats a common problem most likley caused by failed capacitors on the DM and the power board. You can get the V26 Chassis DM / Power repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions for the repair.
