Hi
I assume that the generator has an electric starter and if not, a manual pull to start cord.
Here is a few things you need to check
1* Check your fuel filter
2* Check ignition with an ignition tester or remove plug to verify spark and if you have iginition ...
3* check carburator if it has one. Carburetors are inexpensive and can be ordered on line at reasonable price.
4*Check your oil level and your pressure switch which may be interlocked with the ignition system; maybe, check it anyway.
5* lastly, ignition coil as stated before, test it
SOURCE: Generator runs, but does not generate electricity
Reset / tickled? There are resistors and diodes in the end of the alternators rotor (the bit in the middle that spins) If these look ok visually then change the capacitor which is a barrel shaped object usually with 4 prongs on the end. Without a capacitor the genset will not produce a voltage.
SOURCE: what size generator, watts, doe's it take to start AC unit 57915.531 ?
a 10000 due to the startup surge. also need start kits on any ac started by a generator.
SOURCE: no output voltage at all
The generator needs to be 'flashed' to bring back the excitation for output. Is this something you can do? Let me know and I can help you...

SOURCE: My Troy-bilt generator will not generate watts
I have a Troy bilt 7800 13500 generator. It has maybe 40 hrs on it. And It stopped working. I took it into a shop to have it fixed. Repair cost would be $1000.00 I paid 1200 for it. Shop said the 3 main parts of the generator were fried. The Generator was bought in 2005 and only like 40 hrs on it and it is dead. Troy bilt will not help out with the repair because it is to old, yet it has no real run time on it. Now the generator is just a paper weigh
SOURCE: natural gas generator will not start. 4 years after installation.
very likely a fuel problem. First pull the air cleaner cover off and try choking the engine by putting your hand over the intake partially choking it. If this don't work then go Down on the bottom right hand side behind the battery you will see a fuel regulator on top of it is a fuel solenoid with 2 wires coming off it. Below the fuel solenoid you will see 2 -1/4" pipe plugs one on top of the other. If you pull the top one out and gas comes out then you have fuel up to the solenoid. If you pull the bottom one out and crank the engine then you should get gas out of the bottom one. If you don't then make sure you are getting 12 vdc to those 2 wires during cranking. If you do then You are going to have to pull the 4 screws out of the solenoid and pull the solenoid off and make sure you the seat on your solenoid valve is not sticking. If all this checks out and you are getting fuel out both 1/4" pipe plug holes, then you will need to see if you have a spark at the spark plugs, if you don't then something is shorting out your ignition coils. Disconnect wire 18 from its terminal located above the oil cooler. If the engine starts and runs with this wire disconnected then you need to trace this wire back to the control panel and see whats causing it to ground out.
Let me know if this helps.
