How long did it take for oil to leak? First, oil seal material selection, second, oil seal selection. Third, the external environment (whether impurities enter). When changing, wipe around, grease, don't scratch the seal lip, etc.

t is recommended that you reflect the above situation to the supplier, so that they can solve the problem, do not make their own replacement.

Whose engine do you have? Briggs and Honda have websites where you can down load their manuals and replace the rear seal.

I have a oil leak on a coleman generator

Most likely at the output shaft of the motor. If you are handy, you might be able to replace the crankshaft seal yourself, but this will probably require you to seperate the generator from the motor, and remove the cover holding the seal. If the leak is small, it may be best to just keep adding oil. If you have to take it to be repaired, it may be more expensive than the unit is worth.

My coleman powermate5500 mod 0525500.01 leaks oil between motor and gen. how to fix

The crank shaft seal is bad on the motor. You will need to seperate the motor from the generator to replace the seal. Depending on the seal design, you will have to open the crankcase on the output shaft side to remove the seal.

Diesel mixed with oil in the sump

You run again the generator but before running, check & mark the oil level. Then stop the generator & wait until the oil settle to the bottom of oil pan. Check the oil level again & if the oil level is higher than the marking before that's means you have an engine gasket leak. You need to replace that gasket.
