Gernator is not quiet enough. Need a quiet muffler and spark arrestor to fit Coleman Powermate 5000W

There may be other mufflers available from engine mfg. that will just bolt on. Look for the model number and type of the engine itself and check with small engine dealer or engine mfg. web site (not coleman web site). I have seen many home-made modifications to quiet engine resulting in only moderate success. The quietest used scooter muffler but only exaggerated the sound of the intake and mechanical sound of internal parts. Take a look at generators built for camping for ideas. You will notice that not only do they have larger mufflers but also use insulated covers to deaden sound. Good luck with your project

hi, I was able to buy a State park approved muffler that was way quieter.
Approved for campground use.Found it at a parts house. I know you will be able to find one I just cannot point you in a direction. Maybe try colemans web site. Good Luck

What is the difference between the 2005 VStar Classic California Model XVS65ATC and the 2005 VStar Classic Model XVS650AT in the motor I am looking to get a hypercharger for my XVS650ATC.

there is no difference in the motor and everything is interchangeable. the only difference between the two is the air fuel mixture settings in the carbs. California has certain EPA emissions standards the bike has to meet so the settings are set a bit leaner than other states that don't have to meet the same requirements. if you get a California model you can adjust the carb settings to be the same as a regular model anywhere else.

I would look at the honda and yamaha generators. Their small gensets are unbeatable and rugged as they come. Dependable as sunshine.
But, that's just my opinion!

Look at the engine manufacturer of the gen you asked about. If you cannot easily pronounce, or you've never heard of this manufacturer, I'd stay away from it. Why? My reasons are simple: if I need a gasket for a honda or yamaha, I can have it in two days. If I need one for a Sunpentown sunshine, I may never get it. --W/D--
