Everytime I turn camera on it displays a message of turn power off and back on. Can you help me I have taken battery out, and put back in, but still shows the same message.

Need the replace of sq base plate unit. Send to Nikon service.

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Always check the batteries first but if is it still giving the same fault, your camera is faulty.
It should be taken to an authorized repair centre for a repair estimate. Very few digital cameras have any user-serviceable parts.

The only thing you can do is send it to Nikon for repair.

Ensure the batteries are the correct kind and chemical makeup (yes it does make a difference!)
try using lithium or alkaline as oppose to standard =]

Otherwise there may be an issue with the camera itself, check for warranty? if it isnt under warranty, document the error message/number, consult the manual AND the support site for the manufacturer.

It is useful for the pro to know the settings automatically at every exposure.But if you dont like you can avoid it by going through the menu.You select "No" to display info or preview

I am having the same problem with Olympus 710. error messge comes up as 5f08 5e02. i amwondering if anything could be done is I contact the company.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times. good luck

The Lens drive is shot Canon customer support will advise I my opinion if the camera is more than a year or so old the repair cost will be high.

Question: When a CompactFlash is loaded, a message of "Card Error. OK" appears and remains on the monitor display. Answer: Please follow the procedure below. While the message is displayed, press the center of the controller. The monitor display and data panel will turn off. Turn the Main Switch dial to OFF position and remove the CompactFlash from the camera. - When "No Card" message appears next time when the camera is activated in the recording mode, the camera and CompactFlash are OK. - When "Card Error. OK" appears again, the CompactFlash may be faulty. Use other card.
