I have an old Oko favorit 64800 dishwasher. I inherited it 10years ago and I guess that it may 15-20 years old. When it reaches the end of a wash cycle, it stops and hums/buzzes.

The problem has been intermittent for many years, but we found that a periodic hot wash cleared it for a month or so. Recently it is happening every time and we are having to clear the program to stop the buzzing. I have had the covers off and the buzzing is coming from a plastic tank at the back of the main pump. I suspect a solenoid/valve. Is this fault fixable given the age of the machine. Are the parts still available? Many thanks Ian

It´s so old that just use it until it dies. New solenoids can be found from various part-shops it´s quite common machine. Most likely it has problems with water level sensor, it doesent know when its totally empty after wash cycle. Parts maybe found on e-spares at UK.

I have had the same problem. If you switch the machine to off and then to cotton/linen 95, then press at the same time prewash, soaking, qick wash and stain buttons for 10 seconds switch it off. When I switched it on it worked.

SOURCE: Kenmore Series 70 Dryer Buzzer won't stop buzzing - Model 110.96573220

  • the buzzer is located under the control panel.
  • you can unplug it.
  • unplug the dryer or turn the breaker off first
  • then take out the 2 screws on both sides of the control panel
  • bull it forward toward you and unhook it from the case
  • you should see the buzzer with two wires going to it
  • only need to disconnect one.
  •  just make sure you wrap the bare wire connector with electrical tape to keep it from touching metal.

Sounds like something may have got past your filter and is touching the main pump impeller eg piece of broken glass or piece of plastic.I,ve even seen a spoon touching the impeller. You may have to take the bottom off the machine and remove the pump if you can,t see anything under the filter,Hope this helps. Regards Stefan.

AEG OKO FAVORITE 4070 - AFter not using for a week dishwasher is flashing dry & end together, will not switch off unless turn it off at the power point, there is no water left in the machine.

If the END or DRYING indicator on the programme progress display is flashing, you can probably rectify the fault yourself.
After rectifying an END or DRYING fault, press the button for the wash programme that has been started.
The wash programme continues. If the fault is displayed again, than check water leakage in the battom of dishwasher.

Malfunction: END and DRYING on the programme progress display are flashing simultaneously.
Possible causes: The leak prevention system has been triggered.
Remedy: Try to find and repair water leakage otherwise close the tap and call customer service.

Aeg slimline dishwasher 64800. AL5 alarm, but fills up

This control procedure is in operation only during the cold wash and heating phases.
  • Once the pressure switch has closed in the "full" position, it must remain "full" until the subsequent drain phase; if the pressure switch signals "empty", the fill solenoid is activated for a period equivalent to the period of aperture of the pressure switch.
  • The maximum aperture time for the pressure switch (T) during the entire phase is 60 seconds; if this period is exceeded, an alarm condition is generated.
Alarm: AL5

Possible causes:
  1. Dishes upside down
  2. Central filter clogged
  3. Siphon effect created in drain hose
  4. Leakage in sump - pressure switch tube.

This seems like the anti flood system (polystireen float / micro switch) at the base of the washer is triggered,\. This puts the washer in pump out mode and stops inlet of water via the inlet solinoid. Dry the water on the base and then check for any water leaks. (pipe leak
