SOURCE: 03 chevy avalanche, no oil

Almost feel bad answering this one but if you have low oil pressure (verified by an external mechanical test gauge, not the one on your dashboard) Likely you replaced the oil pump but did not check the bearings on the crankshaft for wear. It is highly unusual for an oil pump to fail. Most often low pressure is caused by bearing wear. A pump can be damaged by ingesting debris from a failing bearing and should be changed, but only after the bearings have been replaced, otherwise you are fixing the result, not the cause of the problem.

It sounds like it may be your Idle Air Control Valve. This is a common maintenance item on many Ford/Lincoln models. It controls the idle speed for the fuel injection system and when it goes bad it will act just like what you are describing.

Replaced ignition coil on 435 husqvarna chainsaw. Starts and idles fine. When I try to rev it up it bogs down.

There were two different ignition units on the 435 so it is important to fit the correct unit or the timing will be out, from memory the part no. was on the unit itself, the only other way to tell is to remove the flywheel the part no of the flywheel will be stamped into the back, you then need to go to the parts list, find the relevant list that shows that particular flywheel and take the ignition unit no from that list

I have a 4200 crftsman generator. It starts ok , but will not go to idle. Without any load at all, when it gets hot, I take the choke off and it wants to race...so I put the choke back on.

This sounds like a governor problem, check for a broken spring or any restricted movement in the throttle linkage. Or loose clamp on the governor.

Noise from motor flywheel

This is possible with engine off through a round inspection hole on transmission bell housing you can see the flywheel with a flashlight . now have someone rotate the engine by hand as you watch the flywheel a slight back and forth on rotation of engine can produce the noise and seeing the flywheel lag in rotation can prove the failure.

Rpm goes 5000 after running a few miles

OMG, its got the Toyota Disease. next is Medial and lawyers.

i think you mean to post with foot off the the throttle, in say DRIVE
the engine races to 5000 RPM , total idle failure,
bad idle controls,
bad idle can happen on any car and can be caused by 2 things.
and is dangerous, (you can cut the key to stop any engine)

1: the throttle is really stuck. check the linkage end to end.
2: the IDLE control valve, ISC is stuck open. clean or replace it.

the cars ECU does all it can to prevent this, but can not help
if there are hard failures. ISC or throttle linkages failure.
there is a throttle return spring too, that can break (very rare)
the throttle bore can get so dirty that it can stick open.
on some cars, NO ENGINE STATE
Speed density engines, (MAP) will race for ANY VACUUM air leaks
to the intake plenum , (cracked hoses, etc)

I have a 55 rancher with no spark whats the deal and what is the gap for the plug and the coil?

Ignition Coil Test by SmallEng.com

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

Parts listing can be found here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

An index or business card is a good gap tool. Remove the plug, rotate until magnetic attraction pulls coil and card tight to flywheel, tighten the coil screws. Rotate flywheel until magnetic attraction eases, remove card, rotate a couple of revolutions and ensure nothing drags or contacts flywheel. HTH
