SOURCE: No Spark on Gras Scorpion GTR2500 where do I look

Before proceeding I would first try a new plug and also check the plug wire for breaks or scuffs If this doesnt work then you will have to pull off the top cover and the cover for the engine the coil is near the flywheel I would replace it

Scorpion SC950 Generator. Hi, I am wanting to know the size for the female fuel Thread for it. Thanks Keith

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to Generators.

Thar sort of information is never available especially on such a vintage machine, and you don't tell 'why'?

You would measure the diameter with an internal Vernier gauge or external on the male connector and then use a thread gauge for the thread pitch.

Or you buy a new tank or a new tap.

Ok so I'm new at this generator stuff and I ran my tailgator 63 cc with putting 2 cycle in with the gas and now I can't get it to start back up any suggestions please I am despite considering the fact that...

Really need more info! If this is came from Harbour Freight, check the spark plug. I watched a video to get a little background on the generator and the recommend changing the spark plug before using it. Anyway, he opened box and pulled the wire off the plug and was able to unscrew the plug by hand. I doubt your plug is loose if it has ran, but probably be in your best interest to change it, I bet it's bad. He said the gap is .03. Take spark plug out and go to any automotive store and get a replacement, they'll even gap it for ya.
Check and make sure there's fuel in it, switch/key is in the on position, press primer button at least 8 times if it has one (didn't see one in video), crank a few times in full choke, then on half choke, and it should start.

Is it a 4 stroke

Does it have a oil dip stick or place to put oil in the bottom of the engine? 2 cycle engines use oil in the gas because they have no oil in the 'crank case'.
do you now have an owners manual?

I need a spark plug for a 5700 watt 11 hp generator, which one do I need?

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

The standard plug is an NGK "BPR5ES" or Denso "W16EPR-U" There are a number of alternate plugs out there if you use the number above in a cross reference book.

One thing to note... the generator has a "Low Oil" sensor and if the oil level is low you will not see any spark. If after you install a new plug and you still do not have spark... un-hook one wire from the low oil level sensor and check spark again. If you unhook the sensor wire knowing full well the oil level is full.and have spark; the sensor is either dirty or bad.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

No load voltage to high 132 volts on power mate 7500

Actually, without a load being connected, this voltage is within specifications. As you connect loads, the engine slows down, voltage will drop as well.

If your meter has the ability, the frequency of the generator with no load plugged in should be 65 or so (preferably 63, but hard to keep it there with mechanical governor).

If you do find that your voltage is too high, with a load plugged in, you are able to reduce it slightly by adjusting the governor ever so slightly towards a lower RPM. 60 RPM = 1 Hz, and a few volts difference.

The best way to adjust your generator is to plug in a load that is half the rated wattage of the generator. Then make your adjustments, keep the frequency just a hair above 60 so that additional loads won't cause it to drop too far.

My grass scorpion willn't start,I have changed fuel with a new mixture & spark plug, still no start & plug wet with fuel & exhaust.Any help to the problem appreciated-dealer give me DJ8J spark...

To make sure that you have the right plug, you need to specify the make and model number of your trimmer. The first thing you need to do is check and make sure you have spark to the plug.
Set the trimmer down.Take out the spark plug.Put the plug into the plug boot and set it on top of the motor.Make sure the switch is on,and pull the recoil a couple of times.Look at the end of the plug to see if you have spark, and make sure it is blue.
If you have spark, you might have a problem with your carburetor settings.
