Loosen the screws on the clamp holding the blade and slide the blade out sideways using an offcut of timber. If the mahine has been abused or neglected, the blade may be in pieces. Reverse operation to mount new blade. Oftentimes the is deformation of the and that may have to be replaced also.

How do i assemble a stanley block plainer

1, Lay pencil on the table top, place body of plane with the front (toe) resting on the pencil, so the light passes beneath the front and middle of the plnes body.
2, lay blade, bevel side up, in to body of plane, ideally sharp end is sticking out of the mouth ever so slightly., 1/2-1mm.

3, Release the knob or lever cam on the lever cap and place on top of blade.

4, tighten knob/turn leaver till it tightens on the blade. and your ready.

5, If the blade isn't protruding the mouth correctly then:

6, Loosen a knob/lever a little to allow the blade to just move, adjust the blade forwards/sidways, lock it in place by re tighten the knob/lever.

Plane a thin piece of wood, re adjust as necessary till wafer thin shavings collect in the mouth ontop of the bevel.

I'm looking for replacement blades for black&decker plane mod 21286 or part # 7696,i need set of bldes

Any Internet search will yeild sources. You may find that HSS blades are more $ than carbide ones, IMO because the carbide are old-stock and have not be repriced.

But first make sure you need replacement blades. Initially because the blades are reversable, and 2nd, either the adjusting height control is not functioning OR, and was in my case, the lower plate with 2 screws has slipped inwards. Since I believe the blades slide out after the top plate (3 screws) is removed, do NOT move the lower plates

Ceiling fan

Hello Capt Treb. Turn off the power. Check all the blade and support arm mounting screws for tightness. Stand on a step stole and view the blades from a horzinal plane to check all blades have the same pitch by slowing rotating by hand. You may have to bend the arms a little to aquire an equal on the plane. To locate a weight balance is a shoot & miss with the balance weights. Good luck.
