I have read through and followed all the advice given in a similar article on here about a TomTom 720 not connecting to TomTom Home and none of it has worked for me.
I have removed the memory card and tried to connect the TomTom without it.
I have both soft-reset the TomTom and Resent it to factory settings then tried to connect it.
I have downloaded some zipped file from the TomTom website (I think it was called Home images) that once unzipped was supposed to be copied into the TomTom's root menu, but as the TomTom won't seem to connect I can't find the root menu.
PLEASE HELP!! I am trying to connect my TomTom 930 GO to TomTom Home and whenever I open TomTom home it simply says "Device not connected". It was connecting yesterday but today it won't.
Any ideas??

The postcode information has to be in a folder named ZIP. This can be either on the SD card or as a subfolder of the NAvigator folder in Program Files on your device

I also had the same problem with the GO720 and the same iphone after a few tries and resetting it connected, but aftera few days of use it stops working again. I do not know if it is a Tom Tom or Iphone softwear problem. Have tried your way will see how it goes!

I detest cell phones, but here's how I got my wife's BB8100 and BB8800 to connect to my GO930:
1) Press the button with 7 dots in a circular pattern (Menu?);
2) Click "Options";
3) Click "Bluetooth";
4) Click "TomTom GO 930" (yours may differ);
5) Click "Full Menu";
6) Click "Options";
7) Change "Discoverable" to "Yes";
8) Press the button with the curved arrow (Return?);
9) Click "Save";
10) Click the curved-arrow button until the menus are gone.
The TomTom should now be able to connect to the BB.
Had to do something similar on the iPhone 4 before it could connect (haven't found a "Trust" option yet).

When you connect the 720 does it show up in my computer? If it does and you try to open the drive and you get a popup saying insert card then the flash drive more than likely has a bad solder connection on the board. Mine had the same symptons. There is a work around by installing a operating system (navcore) and maps onto a SD card. You can use up to a 4 gb. SDHC card. You can get the navcore and maps free from GPS Underground forums. Your 720 will boot from the SD card.
