It seems to be because it is a Canadian model! Where I am :>) You can probably order parts on the '970' model number alone. Most sites will give you a schematic.
if you're looking for a replacement part for your kenmore device, please first work with home depot. If you want the replacement done for you, you can use them to schedule a home repair. If you want to attempt to save money, you can also get a price quote from Kenmore directly and compare it with that of Home Depot.
If you turn the inner wash drum by hand, what kind of noise do you hear? If it is a thumping kind of noise, it would mean that the spider support arms are broken. If the noise is a loud rumbling sound, similar to a jet engine when it is spinning, it would mean that you have a bearing seal failure and the bearings need to be replaced. Either problem is a big job to fix since the entire washer needs to be taken apart. Get a few estimates before deciding whether it is worth fixing. Sorry.
Just asking if your model number is correct. I do not find 970 models but do find 790 models. If it is a 790 model there can be aproblem with the door lock on the oven door. You may want to check to see if all the shipping materials have been removed from the door lock / latching area. I would recommend that you review the installation instructions in the owners manual, paying particular attention to the removal of shipping materials.
Adittionally if the problem presists it says to replace the Electronic Range Control (ERC) This is not a cheap part! Good thing it will be at their expense including the repair service call..
Hopefully you have already called for warranty service? We both know a brand new oven should not be producing any error codes. If you have not called for warranty service you do so now. Make sure to tell them that you already have talked to customer support and that unplugging the unit for ANY period of time made no difference in the error code.
You might want to check the plumbing in the bottom of the machine for
clogs. On most modern washers, the spin cycle will not start if the
water is not completely drained or doesn't drain fast enough. I had a
similar problem and found a there was a rubber fitting with a plastic
cup inside that serves as a trap to prevent debris from entering the
pump. It had a piece of scotchbrite, forty cents worth of change and a
hairpin stuck in it.
able to find a spec sheet on your specific washer, but i can tell you that you have a whirlpool made kenmore washer. and at 18 yrs ago they have only gotten larger, youd be hard pressed (unles you bought a apt sized machine or a laundry center) to get a smaller capacity machine. new machines are huge in comparison to the oldies
