Craftsman trimmer 25cc

Diaphrams can be tricky sometimes...seating can be irritating. If carb disassembled and cleaned out...might have to check adjustments. Make sure screw didn't get loose. I had one do that before when governor broke.

I have a craftsman tecumseh 4.5 hp mower throttle free type and i have cleaned and rebuilt the carb replaced the carb mounting gasket between the carb and intake and also replaced the o rings on the...

1ec7ba32-45ac-4b07-8389-f863014e42da.jpgIt still sounds like a carburation issue. Are you sure all jets, vents and ports in carb are open? Another possibility is that the governor setting is off. The governor is the rod that comes out of side of engine and connects to throttle linkage on carb. To set governor to factory setting, push governor linkage in direction that opens throttle valve, loosen screw on governor arm and turn rod in same direction until it stops, while holding in this position tighten screw on governor arm. This is called a static setting. If this doesn't work I would disassemble carb, remove all plastic and rubber parts and soak in carb dip overnight. Picture may be different from your unit but it shows governor linkage to carb. Good luck and happy wrenching!

I have a craftman 4 cycle mini tiller, running to slow. need to run at a faster speed. do not where to adjust.

If the carb has the "fixed" throttle control. Find the governor control lever with the small, long coiled spring attatched to it in the middle. It may be hooked to a metal tab that is on the back carburetor bolt. Bend the tab to your left to increase set speed or to the right (towards governor lever) to decrease.

I mixed up one spring and the mower idles low on craftsman eager-1 5.0 22 inch cut

I think that model may use the Tecumseh engine and carburetor application. Here is a diagram of what your machine (carb/choke and governor) should look like.

Craftsman Trimmer/Edger 4.0 HP Engine races...

Most likely, the mechanical governor is damaged inside the engine. If you have tools, a sense of adventure, and lots patience, this can be replaced for a modest cost in parts.
If not, take it to a reputable repair shop.
The governor replacement involves engine removal, opening the crankcase, lots of parts-cleaning, and attentive reassembly.
Would be happy to help you if you decide to tackle this repair.
Hope this helps.
