Sorry, you should be using gas oil mix.

Have you tied emptying and starting fresh gas\oil?

Try a different new spark plug?

Tiller will not start, new plug, rebuilt carb, replaced upper oil seal, cleaned exhaust port.

You didn't say if there is a spark. Pull the plug out and hook the wire to it and ground the plug to engine. If there is spark then it is likely a fuel problem. Squirt a little starting fluid or gas in the sparkplug hole before putting the plug in and see if it fires. Pull the fuel line off the carb and check the flow.

Last year I started the tiller and while I was using it it just quit and it wouldn't start again. I replaced the gas and put in a new spark plug and still couldn't get it started.

Did you remove & drain the bowl below the carb. If that doesn't work remove the carb & clean out all ports & passageways. Use non-ethanol gas in the future & remove all fuel at the end of the season including in the carb & fuel lines.

Engine won't stay running without constant spray in the throtal port with engine start, replaced float needle and seal. Spark plug,??

Your problem is fuel related no fire related.Check to see if you have gas getting to the carburetor[pull off the fuel line that comes from the tank and goes to the carb],if you have no fuel then either the shut off valve on the tank is bad or the tank is plugged. Also with the new needle installed is the fuel bowl getting filled? You may need to set the float up some more.

did it run out of gas when you added gas it could be that the fuel line has plugged up with something from the bottom of the tank take the fuel line off and try blowing threw it and take a air hose and blow out the carb and carb cleaner

My troy-built tiller/edger won't start without 500 pulls. it has a newplug and fresh gas-oil. it was sitting for some years without being used,it started last fall and now nothing.

sounds like a fuel issue the carb has a diaphram after sitting for so long it is probably gummed also check fuel filter and fuel line inside tank

6-5 vacuum will not start with out stating fuild

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

The bike is having a lot of back fires and will not stay started while idling. Wanted to know is there any way to adjust the carb without having to pull the tank. The spark plugs were fouled and changed a...

carbs are factory set and not adjustable. check to see if your choke is turning off fully. does the fuel pump switch off once the bike starts? you can put your fingers on it to feel incase you cant hear it, the pump is up behind the ignition. if you put fingers up there and then turn it on you should feel it ticking. or it could be a timing problem. do you have a good spark with clean plugs
