SOURCE: Craftsman 42 inch riding lawn mower is not cutting evenly

The first thing to check is your blades. If one is bent, it will never cut even. It happens a lot hitting roots, antbeds, etc. Mulching blades will bend easier than a straight blade. It's best to take them off and lay one on top of the other to see if they're bent.

SOURCE: when mower gets hot it cuts off crank back up run a min cut off

1 of 2 things happening
first change the fuel filter seams that the gas is vapourizing
If that does not fix it replace the engine coil as it heats up it is breaking down in voltage causing the engine to die

SOURCE: ride on Mountfield Lawn mower 1228H - engine cuts out

Check to make sure there is no obstruction in the blades or on top of the deck where the belt goes. Also check that your pulleys turn freely and that a bearing didn't freeze up.
Let me know if this helps.

I just bought an old John Deere 68 riding mower but it does not cut grass even though the blade spins when engaged. I made sure the blade was on correctly but it still doesn't cut. I noticed the pulley...

Are you sure it is the correct blade and when it is turning the sharp edge is on the leading side? A spinning blade will cut grass even if the blade is dull. Did you lower the deck to the correct level?

Troy-bilt riding mower won't move in forward or reverse

I had a similar problem with my TroyBilt 50 inch zero turn mower. Was cutting grass when it stopped going either forward or backward even though it would start and the PTO would move the cutting blades. Turned out the tensioner spring for the belt that drives the motors near the rear wheels had gone missing. Searched the yard where I had cut and moved the machine but couldn't find it. A new one cost me about $7.50. Put the new one on and it worked fine.

I have a model 944-604810 riding lawn mower and find that it leaves a trail of cut grass even though it is equipped with a mulching blade and a new mulching cover. It would appear that the grass is not...

yes that is most likely the cause of it, also, you have to cut more often when mulching, and the higher the cutting deck, the more likely the grass will blow out without getting mulched enough. More than likely, the blades are dull, and/or the grass is too high, or possibly even wet if it is high.

The riding mower doesn't cut evenly...one side cuts higher than the other...

The following steps will make any riding mower cut evenly.
1. The rear tires must be the same diameter i.e. same tread type and the same tire pressure (check it before each mowing).
2. Level the deck following the instructions in the manual and recheck it occasionally
3. Make sure the blade(s) are not damaged and kept sharp, rounded blades tear instead of cut.
4. Make sure the deck and its attachment points are not bent or damaged.
5. Drive at a slow walking speed with the engine at cutting speed.
6. Over lap rows in amounts sufficient to lift and cut the tire tracks from the previous pass.
7. Cut the grass at intervals that ensures you never have cut more than 1/3rd the total length of the grass.
8. Make sure the underside of the deck is clean.
9. Use a blade style that matches the type of grass you most often mow.

Intek 6.5 HP in a Craftsman 21'' mulcher/bagger --loss of power--

No - 6.5HP is enough to cut 3" at a fast walking pace. I would suspect a blown head gasket.
