Really need the make and model of your machine as different manufacturers use the same code to mean diferent things. Hotpoint/Indesit/Creda generally use E20 to mean there is a problem with temperature sensing (Which generally indicated that the water heater element has failed. Zanissu/AEG Lavmat use E20 to indicate that the empty pump is blocked (Usually behind a kick plate at the bottom of the machine or a flip open door, you will find a cover that looks a little like a fuel cap). AEG also use E20 to indicate a door lock fault on some models. Personally, the fact that it is near the end of the cycle would indicate to me you have a blocked empty pump
