PS4 is able to play DVDs even Blu-rays. It is coming with a strong disc drive that allows reading and delivering both DVD and Blu-ray discs without issues. Unfortunately, every PS4 DVD player is manufactured by a particular DVD region code via international standards. Thus, the PS4 game device is region-locked for multimedia content like DVD disc even though you can ignore the DVD games region. So maybe your PS4 is not compatible with the DVD region.

You need to be online to activate the DVD play feature, sucks I know but they only make ya do it once. Now if it is a copied disk (lol hint hint at what I mean) certain formats will not play on the ps4 there is a list of supported ones on their site (or google it ). Hope this helps.

My dvd player wont play any disk. It says remove disk, disk may not be formatted for playback?

The only thing you can try and is a long shot, use a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if this fails! the problem is in the laser pickup assembly and cost to repair can not be justified.

PS3 will play games but not movies

Well if the regular dvd's dont work.. I would recommend you to buy Blu-Ray movies instead.. PS3 is the best known blu-ray player. buy at least one blu-ray movie and try that.

Ps3 plays video games, not bluray movies or dvds

I would start with a firmware update (2.60) and also a full system restore. That should fix the problem. Let me know. I'm a PS3 expert!

Dvd playback

Some DVD players cannot play certain types of disks mainly -R discs. Check compatability in the DVD player's manual. Try using +R discs for peace of mind...
